Prologue
"Worms"
"It's as unpleasant as always."
That was what Ash thought, upon entering the large dark chamber. It wasn't his first time being here, and it certainly won't be the last. As unfortunate as that is, Ash knew that in the end it will pay off. It must pay off.
The entire chamber had no windows and as such, the only source of light were candles flickering with weak fire. If it was up to Ash, he would at least get some lamps in here. The atmosphere in this place was quite grim and depressing as it was, and the candles weren't helping.
However, Ash knew quite well, that even if he complained about this to the owner of the chamber, he would get no more than a scowl and some insults. This entire place was owned and ruled by the same person. It is here where they would be given orders from him on what to do... and be insulted in the process too.
"Finally here, eh worm?"
A voice spoke to him from the other end of the chamber. It was a young voice, quite similar to Ash's. However, unlike his voice, this one held no emotion. Instead, it was filled with harsh, cold, spite. It belonged to Ash's ancestor... Saiki.
Ash noticed, that each time he went in here, Saiki was simply sitting o lying on the small sofa. The only thing that changed with each visit, was his position. He was just always here, never doing anything else. Waiting for others to do the work for him. Nevertheless, he was not someone to be underestimated. Saiki was more than just another human, in fact, it was quite hard to consider him as such.
"So I am. You wanted to speak to me about something?"
"Yes. It's about those wretched three clans. With the start of the tournament, those dogs will probably come to sniff around."
Ash smirked. He expected that this would happen. His dear ancestor, despite being so powerful, is quite paranoid... especially now.
"Oooh? Is that so? Do you want me to do something about it?" Asked Ash, with a completely indifferent tone of voice. He already knew what would be the answer.
"Yes, you trite idiot. This is your job after all, cleaning the trash I mean."
Ash narrowed his eyes a bit. He wasn't angry. The insults never bothered him, however he kinda lacked a proper response to this, so he just simply decided to follow with another question.
"So then... is there any specific way you want me to do it?"
"You will enter the tournament, simple as that. Just be sure to not ruin everything with your foolish antics. Kill them swiftly."
"Is that all?"
"Yes, you wriggling worm. Now leave, get out of my sight. Just looking at you makes me nauseous."
Ash smiled, and just when he was about to leave, he stopped and turned again towards Saiki.
There was one small thing he wanted to ask, even though once again, he knew the answer all too well.
"What is it now?" Saiki said, grimacing.
"I wonder... what will you do with the rest of us, once this is all done?"
For a brief moment there was tense silence. Finally, after a moment Saiki sent Ash a piercing scowl.
"None of your damn business, worm. Now make yourself REALLY useful and get out."
"Yes sir."
With that said, Ash turned around and walked out of the chamber. On his face was painted a mischievous smile. Everything was going according with expectations. Orochi's resurrection was practically at hand, and with it...
"I guess I should work hard, else my precious ancestor will be upset." Thought Ash.
