"Allen"...that goody good kid was always a self-sacrificing martyr. He never drank, never ate too much (in the past). He always said, " Yes Nea", "Of course Nea", "Anything, just ask [Nea]. And when Nea was nearing his end, "Allen" offered his body. "No matter how many years" he would wait. But that "boy fell into a deep slumber", and when he was born anew, he'd forgotten
I didn't recognize him at first. It wasn't until Mana called him "Allen" that noticed something familiar about him. I eyed him closely. "It couldn't be...", I thought. But when I saw that deformed red arm, I thought "Maybe... just maybe." It was then that "Allen" came running towards me. Still lost in though, I didn't notice until he rammed into me. Suddenly there was spark, and a connection was made. I had found the one who held my master. I had found "Allen".
"Allen"... It wasn't really his real name, but he refused to go by any other. "The name's Allen!", he would say at the slightest mention of his old name. It was the only time he'd act like a royal brat. But that was why we picked him up. We wanted an "Allen".
After Nea defeat we'd all fled. There was nothing we could do except wait for his return. Mana ended up joining some street performers as a clown. Mana had never been right, but now he was simply broken. Each time I told him my name he would never get it right. " Crossa", "Crow", "Croissants"... He would say anything but "Cross" And each time I returned he wouldn't remember my face.
"Allen" was the only person he recognized. He'd always pull on "Allen" and tell "Allen" to juggle with him or wear his spare clown suit. Allen absolutely despised jesters and clowns, but Mana wouldn't let him go. He'd beg and beg until "Allen" gave in. It was after many such incidences that "Allen" said he take a quick breather outside.
He never did returned. The "Allen" we knew was gone. Instead there was a little brat who'd always insist that "the name's Red!" If the old "Allen" could see himself, he'd have a heart attack. They were one and the same, but they acted entirely different. Whereas the old "Allen" would have smiled sweetly, kid "Allen" made all his likes and dislikes clearly known on his face.
I was deeply puzzled. Why was "Allen" young again. Nea had no such power. Why did "Allen remember nothing. But a closer look at his hand told everything. The dark crystal embed in his flesh. The culprit was...
"Innocence"
