"Just so you know, Fargo should be here any minute," Claudia told Steve, looking around the B&B that was empty except for the two of them.

"Fargo?"

"Yes, Fargo." The doorbell rang, and she ran toward it wearing a grin.

"Who's Fargo?" Steve asked curiously, watching closely as Claudia opened the door.

"My boyfriend," she said quickly, opening the door to a smiling Fargo. "Hey, Doug, so nice to see you, and let's go up to my room, alright?" She tried to guide him away from Steve, who was sure to ask a thousand questions.

"Not so fast," Steve replied, grabbing Fargo's shoulder to prevent him from going any further.

Claudia's shoulders visibly sunk as she rolled her eyes. "Um, hi," Fargo squeaked, trying to wriggle out of the much stronger Steve's grasp and holding out his hand. "I'm Doctor Douglas Fargo."

"Agent Steve Jinks. A doctor, huh?" Steve shook Fargo's hand while switching his gaze to Claudia. "A doctor, Claud?"

"Yes, so you know that you can trust him because he has a PhD. Let's GO, Doug," Claudia grumbled, taking Fargo's hand and starting to drag him toward the stairs.

"Ah, not yet," Steve said, following them up the stairs as Claudia gave Fargo a helpless, apologetic stare. "What are your intentions with Claudia?"

"My intentions?" Fargo quipped, eyebrow raised. "Um, she's a lovely girl, and I intend to treat her like a princess." He shot Claudia a look and the two of them stifled their giggles; that certainly didn't need to be explained to Steve.

"And she should be treated like a princess. I don't want anyone coming around like that dirtbag, Dwayne."

"Dwayne?" Fargo asked, shifting his gaze from Steve to Claudia.

"Yeah, yeah, he wanted me to be in his band, the one with the crappy name, and we had a thing for all of three seconds before I decided yes, he was kind of a dirtbag and gave it up because you're the one for me." She planted a kiss on his cheek for effect, making Fargo grin. "Now that we're all caught up here, and Steve, Fargo, Fargo, Steve, we'll be heading up to my room now, okay?" Claudia gave Steve an overly sweet smile before running up the stairs and dragging Fargo behind her.

Steve followed up the stairs, hearing Claudia whisper, "I'm so sorry. He gets so overprotective."

Fargo shrugged, giving her a kiss. "Is it wrong to say I'm a little scared right now?"

"He only seems tough. He's harmless."

"I'm not always harmless," Steve interjected, walking up behind them and making Fargo jump in surprise. "But you seem like a nice guy, so I'll go easy on you."

"Thank…you…?"

"Fargo, go in my room. I'll be there in a second." He nodded and obliged, running in without question.

"Jinks. Jinksy. Steve," Claudia said lovingly quickly adding, "Poopypants" in a darker tone, "Fargo and I haven't seen each other in AGES, and we have a LOT of catching up to do."

"You're lying." A smirk came across his face.

Claudia's face flushed a light pink. "Then you KNOW what we are doing, Jinksy, so get. out." She slammed the door to her room as fast as she could in Steve's face. "Jesus, I thought he'd never leave! Where did we leave off last time?" he heard her ask Fargo with a giggle.

With a laugh, Steve yelled, "You kids have fun!", smiling at the embarrassed groan Claudia elicited.
