Disclaimer: Gakuen Alice is Higuchi Tachibana's masterpiece.

A/N: This is my first attempt at loop poetry: no-meters followed and rhyming scheme is abcb for each stanza. In loop, the last word of the first line becomes the first word of the second line. So on, so forth. The Black Cat or the man is obviously Natsume, and the Young Lady is Mikan. Easy read...(?) Enjoy.

The Black Cat Leaves a Lover's Kiss
Misummer Eve

AU / Dark Romance / Poetry

T'was the night the Black Cat leaps
Leaps from the roof to a tree
Tree by the nook, how scary it looks
Looks horrid to one who can't see.

Because the tree is in front of a window
Window to the Black Cat's desire
Desire for the young lady asleep
Asleep, her curves under eyes afire.

The Black Cat, now a man, inhales, as she turns
Turns to roll over - and her brown tresses glide
Glide veiling her beautiful, luscious face
Face of a sweet temptress, burning him inside.

The prudent man leers, the moon flashes above
Above, the white-fleck seeds are glistening
Glistening and glowing like her long, arched neck
Neck of a pale and white color, bare to his yearning

This watchful man gazed down her flavescent gown
Gown of an infuriatingly sheer garb on her skin
Skin rising with each heave of her soft, creamy breasts
Breasts, full of her, tempting him breathless to sin.

This possessive man explores 'til he can't take it no more
More, no more, and he jumps from the tree silently
Silently too he padded over to her – "Mikan" he says
Says he, boiling with lust, thence staring at her ardently.

This hungry man leans over, picturing their bodies entangled
Entangled madly, yes, madly! He wants every piece of her.
Her whom he finds elegant, alluring - making him smile
Smile without thinking...a gentle smile only for her, forever.

This man, beguiled, tenderly cradles her passive face
Face of the woman whose body he'll claim to be his
His hands trembling, smothers her with love, tastes her lips
Lips supple from entwined breaths, of a lover's passionate kiss.

Mikan awakens, silken curtains flayed by the cold wind
Wind that rustles the leaves of that tall, spooky tree
Tree holding a memory, she blushes, remembering
Remembering that handsome, dark-haired man on the tree.

In front of the window the crooked tree knows
Knows the man, the Black Cat, remains docile on her roof
Roof clad with the tousle of moonlight and shadows
Shadows of his bearing, of his erring he leaves no proof.

T'was the night the Black Cat leaps
Leaps while his beloved sinks back to sleep
Sleep she tries but fails, because her heart is tingling
Tingling for one more kiss, one more dream…so deep.

Explanation: Natsume, in his craving for Mikan, finds himself kissing (attacking) her while she sleeps. He holds back and changes his mind. (Love over lust, maybe?) Mikan awakens believing that Natsume's kiss was a dream; but as she sinks back to sleep, the dream bothers her. Deep inside she feels it's not just a dream. The poem ended with her falling asleep, secretly wanting more of that "lover's kiss". Or something like that. lol

End Notes: Plah, I suck. I took down the "cannibalism out of love" theme from the poetry so as not to freak people out - for everyone's sake (lol) and to lower the rating. I'm not sure if the rating should be raised; nothing perverse happened, really. I'm getting a headache. I'll leave it be.
