She was walking away into the distance, she was laughing, she was crying, she was dancing, she was shouting. She was her best friend, this couldn't be happening, they couldn't…..be falling in love, could they? They had always been like sisters; playing in the back garden, pretending to live on farms, planning each other's weddings, could they be more then that?

Could the love of your life have been living under your nose since you were two months old?

"Highly unlikely,"she thought to herself. And anyway, it was over now, she was going away. They would probably never meet each other again… but that was not true, she knew it, and even if all family ties, all common acquaintances and even friendships were severed, fate would have a way. Fate always had a way. A way to make you laugh, cry…..love.

And what would her family say. They were after all a religious, traditional family, from a religious traditional country (with the exception of her father). The fact that she didn't believe, had only been confided in three people; her father, sister and…her.

Maybe fate would be kind, let her forget and find a loving man to marry, maybe it would…

"But it won't," she thought. She turned around, put a Bohemian Rhapsody record into the cassette player and listened to the lyrics.

"Carry on, carry on as if nothing really matters."
