I'm sorry! I know Company of Insanity hasn't been updated, and I have the nerve to post this.

But, I went camping recently (and then a road trip, so a lot of hand writing went down), and this idea was born. It hasn't left yet, so I'll keep humoring it, and maybe I'll get a full story out of it.

This is a sort of teaser thing. If you like it, I'll be sure to finish the story, but I'm not posting anything else until I finish it.

By the way, if anyone reading this is going to Anime Matsuri, look for me, I'm the Zexion hanging out with Yuffie (and sometimes Namine). Just walk right up. :)

The train lurched forward, moving jerkily down the rail through the forest. Its passengers were pretty few but enough that no one had a cart to themselves.

A small blond boy was curled up on one seat in the second-first-cart. He had pulled his legs up, hugging them to his chest with his head on his knees, bangs mostly covering his eyes.

He stared at the wall opposite him, not even paying attention the old grey bag that seemingly belonged to him that was on the next seat, jostling with the movements of the train.

The blond's head bounced up and down on his knees as he watched a little girl toddle her way over to him, almost falling halfway there when the train hit a small rock on the rail.

"Hi." The girl beamed when she reached him.

He flinched a little when she grabbed his ankle and held on tight, but replied quietly.

"…Hello."

"I'm Sephie!" She giggled, holding on to him for support, her brown hat falling over her eyes.

"Nice to meet you Selphie. I'm… Roxas."

The little girl smiled.

"Selph! What are you doing? Leave the poor young man alone!" A lady with brown curly hair grabbed Selphie and pulled her back. "I am so sorry, she just wanders off and talks to people!"

"…'S alright." Roxas muttered, glancing at her before returning his gaze to the floor.

"Okay then… Again, sorry for bothering you!" She walked the girl back to their spot, lecturing her the entire way.

"Young lady, this is not acceptable behaviour… you have to stop…" She kept on going, the little girl pouting at her.

Roxas watched as the lady finished. She smiled and kissed her girl on the head, whispering something.

The blond sighed and looked away.

Through the window, he could see tall thin tress rushing by, their leaves different colors and already decorating the ground.

He looked up ahead to hopefully see the blue sky above the empty tracks that would make him feel so much better, lighter, free.

Except… the tracks ahead weren't so empty.

Roxas barely had time to widen his eyes, and then two eight-cart trains crashed head-on.

He was thrown from where he was sitting to the wall leading to the third cart, slamming violently against the hard metal.

Luggage from overhead came thundering down, some breaking upon impact, others just bouncing and rolling.

The blond could barely hear above the scraping of metal bending around other metal and the screaming that could be heard from the entire train. His ears couldn't take much more…

All of the sudden, the train tilted to the right, and somehow managed to get off the tracks. It tumbled down through the forest, finally coming to a stop when the middle car hit a big tree, causing the tree to tilt forward dramatically. It wasn't the best solution, but it was good enough for now.

When the train finally stopped moving, Roxas became aware that he couldn't move. He was pressed to the wall, trapped behind two suitcases and clothes were littered on top of him.

He tried to stay awake, to call out for help, but he had no choice as he slipped into unconsciousness.

It didn't even register that there was no more screaming.
