"You are not permmited to be in this area, data scans indicate hostile intentions. Prepare to be eradicated."
Four orange security probes alerted Artemis in their electronic voices to his imminent demise. Artemis, who previously had been running for his life. He had been escaping 2 other security probes whom were still following him down the dimmed corridors, that of which were barely illuminated by the red flashing alarm walls were a dull grey, making it hard to distinguish what was a door and what was a wall.
"Eradication will begin shortly. Please be patient as you wait for your death."
The other two probes had caught up.
"During your eradication every layer of your skin will be similtaneously removed from your body and burned."
The other four probes added, slightly out of unison.
Artemis desperately felt the walls, searching for a door.
"Please remain calm as you are eradicated. Please refraim from screaming as every single scrap of life within you is obliterated, as other guests may not appreciate the disturbance."
The probes were closing in, and their box like shapes obstructed the skinny corridors.
Artemis found a door handle.
"After eradication your remains will be collected by a sweeper bot and ejected into space."
Artemis tried to force open the door.
"Access denied. Access denied. Access denied."
"Please keep still as your impending death occurs."
"Unauthorised attempts at opening this door have been recognised. The door is now deadlocked and can only be opened by one of our caring security probes."
Artemis backed up against the door.
"Eradication ray charged. Prepare for your immediate extermination."
Artemis once again desperately searched for a way out, but gave up quickly and tried
a different strategy.
"HOLLY!"
Meanwhile, inside Sector 79...
"He called for you first. Not Butler."
Holly gave Foaly a swift to kick to the shins.
"Ow!"
"We are just friends."
"Rrrriiigggghhhht."
Whack!
This time Holly went with the traditional slap.
"Ow! Alright, alright. Ending simulation."
Foaly tapped a few keys on the holo-key (a Foaly invention, which is basically just a holographic keyboard interface with some minor design adjustments) and Artemis suddenly found himself in the middle of Sector 79's Holo-Training room.
Earth Invasion Response Command Centre, hours later...
"We have Master Fowl's results sir."
Keith Phillips, the Commander of the facility spun his chair around to face his nervous looking messanger. He liked the chair because it was of human design, which made him tower over everyone else sitting down. The only thing he disliked about it was the colour. But the blue ones were out of stock, and so he was stuck with orange.
"And...?"
"He made it further than anyone else by 40%."
"But?"
"It's not nearly enough to have a hope of completing the mission."
Phillips swivelled his chair so he could put his feet up on his desk, which was facing the windows he had installed to let some light into the room without consuming power. Or that was the excuse he used to get them anyway.
"Then God help us..."
