This is true love. You think this happens every day?

You should be kissed, and often, and by somebody who knows how.

The course of true love never did run smooth.

And in this labyrinth, where night is blind…

Love is blind.

Evie shook her head. Where had that last one come from? Surely it couldn't be one of those romantic movie quotes she'd been thinking of. Love couldn't be blind; if she was blind, she couldn't dream over Chad's gorgeous face. What was love if you couldn't see the beauty of the one you loved?

Her eyes slid over to Doug, taking notes at the table beside her. She had felt him sneaking glances at her from time to time throughout the class. His love for her certainly wasn't blind. He wouldn't care for her if she wasn't pretty, would he? Of course not. Just like he could never expect her to care for him when he was so pale and skinny and wore glasses that weren't flattering at all. It was only natural that she should prefer Chad, with his gorgeous hair and dreamy eyes and incredible physique. It was only to be expected. Wasn't it?

Wasn't it?
