"Annabeth, it has to be me." Percy whispered. The war was far from won. It was hard to win a war when your opponent kept reforming and your comrades kept dying. Percy knew that someone had to close the Doors of Death, but whoever did was stuck in Tartarus. "No, I won't let you." Annabeth protested. Percy looked over at Jason who nodded, remembering their deal, that he would hold Annabeth until Percy closed the doors. Jason stepped forward and held onto Annabeth, holding her down. She kicked and screamed, begging Percy to stop, tears falling down her face. She didn't want to lose him, but there was nothing she could do. Percy turned around to face the doors, preparing to sacrifice himself to close them. But when he turned around, Leo was already there, pushing the doors shut.

Leo looked up to see the others staring in shock. He could also see Percy starting to protest, but Leo started to talk. "No, let it be me," His tired eyes roamed over his friends, each of them with someone they love. "You all have someone you love, I don't." You lie, his conscience whispered. His mind flashed images of a beautiful girl and a destroyed dining table. His voice echoed through his head, "I'm coming back for you Calypso, I swear it on the River Styx." He shoved the thoughts and images out of his head. "The seventh wheel, destined to be alone. Well, it was cool, cool. It was all cool, but it's over for me. And it's over for you." With one more smile, Leo closed the doors, sealing his fate.
