Ok. This is a random oneshot that I had to write down (due to a lack of notebook, I had to type it up) as I would completely forget about it. Lost notebook = lost brain.

So, I am typing this up now, so it won't escape my brain later :). It's my first time writing a story like this, so telling me how I could get better would help a lot :)

If I could turn back time…

You never will forget the night he turned up at your window.

You would give anything to go back in time, to change your mind, to say yes to his offer, to fly of with him into the night.

You remember the night well, despite the years that have passed. You were in your bed, trying vainly to get to sleep, when you heard the knocking. You went over to your window, only to get the shock of your life, as there was a boy standing on the windowsill. Stranger still, he seemed to be dressed in leaves.

Flying in through your window and landing lightly on your bed, he flashed a smile at you, and you saw that he still had all of his baby teeth.

"Who are you?" you asked politely, though you were puzzled by his sudden appearance.

"I'm Peter Pan!" he replied, quickly bowing. "And you are…?"

You told him your name, curtseying in your nightgown. You asked him where he lived, trying to make conversation. You weren't prepared for the answer, though.

"Second star on the Right, and straight on till morning!" he told you, pointing out of the window at some star in the distance.

"Are you trying to be funny?" you asked, not believing a word of what he was telling you. Nonetheless, you listened to his tale of a place called Neverland, and all that happened there. He told you about pirates, Indians, mermaids, fairies, lost boys and many others. He explained that the lost boys needed a 'mother', yet you refused to go. You didn't believe him at all.

"So you're not coming?" he asked, sounding downhearted. You watched him leave, and you went back to sleep, pushing the meeting out of your mind.

---

That night, your neighbour, Wendy, went missing for a whole week. When she came back, she wasted no time in telling you where she had been.

She told you that she had gone to Neverland, and that she had flown away with a boy named Peter Pan. She explained her adventures with the lost boys, and her tale was riddled with one handed pirates, jealous fairies, moonlit dances, hidden kisses and thimbles. You told her that Peter had visited you also, and that you had declined his offer, as you didn't believe him.

You began to notice that, as the years passed, Wendy went missing for a few days at the start of April. You asked her where she went, and you got the same answer every time:

"Neverland, of course!"

---

You saw this Peter boy every year. He never saw you, though. You always saw him at Wendy's window, and they flew off, hand in hand, up into the sky. You wished that you had believed his story now, and then it would have been you flying off with him, not Wendy. You wished you could turn back time.

And you still do.

Yeah, I know, its short, its weird, its probably very bad…

Help would be appreciated :D
