Katherine's Weakness

Katherine sees the first Toy Story movie when there is nothing on TV and she rolled her eyes at the clichés, the importance of friendship. But she does hum the song "You have a friend in me" every once in a while.

Katherine sees the second Toy Story movie out of curiosity and she can honestly say that she laughs. She loves the cowgirl, Jessie. She is a distrustful (at least at first) badass like her.

Katherine sees the third Toy Story film out of loyalty and she can honestly say that she cries her heart out. Something she hadn't done in years, and she does it for a kids' movie for God's sake.

She can't help it. It pains her.

Her heart aches when she sees the toys holding hands awaiting their impending death to burn alive. She knows that if that ever happened to her, no one would hold her hand in comfort, they would just let her fall.

She openly cries at the end when Andy plays with his toys one last time and Woody and Andy say goodbye before he leaves. She doesn't know why, but it makes her cry.

It reminds her that she has been alone for centuries. She can't remember the last time she had, had a single friend. She can't remember the last time she had felt sad for somebody leaving her. And that thought alone saddens her.

She misses her childhood. Her human life. Her parents. She misses her dolls. Her home in Bulgaria. She misses her simple life. Most of all she misses being loved and wanted.

She turns off the TV and sits alone in the house. The emptiness was a bitter reminder.

She walks up the stairs, not even the song "You have a friend in me" can make her smile.

There's just no point.

She was completely and utterly alone.

The End
