As Hermione sat on the grass, close to where the Whomping Willow was located, she took a few moments to sort things out. She'd never felt like this before, and was confused as to why, now, these feelings were attacking her. She always assumed that her and Ron would be together, but ever since he started talking to that little slut, Lavender Brown, she never saw him.
Jealousy had never been one of the emotions that Hermione felt. This was all new to her. She had to find out a way to shake this feeling. She tried to find Harry to talk to him about her inner turmoil, but of course, he was busy snogging Cho, or Ginny, or anyone else who happened to be after him.
She needed something...something she'd never had before. She glanced Harry's godfather across the way, his dog for large, black, and shaggy. He'd always been a mentor to her before, but now, as she sat and thought about him, in human form, of course, all she could think about was whether the rumours were true, whether his reputation of being the biggest man-whore the wizarding world had ever known. She'd overheard a third year Ravenclaw telling her friends that her aunt used to date Sirius, and that he was the best she could never get again. She didn't believe it, didn't want to believe it at the time, but now, Hermione couldn't help but wonder, if she could ever get him, could he live up to that reputation?
She knew he'd thought about her before, she'd caught him glancing at her at the Burrow one time. It made her uneasy at the time, but she had to remember, she wasn't quite the little girl she used to be. It made her feel good to remember that day.
Standing up and walking towards Padfoot, she pet his head as she passed by. He automatically wanted more, following her into the shadows of the side of the building. Growling at her when she stopped, Hermione said in a stern voice, "Sirius, can I talk to you?"
After a few seconds passed, Hermione found herself standing before Sirius Black...a very beautiful Sirius Black. Before either of them could say anything, Hermione nervously leaned up to kiss him. To her surprise he did kiss her back, softly, but forcefully. After a few seconds, she stepped back smiling. Sirius stood there in the shadows looking dumbstruck, not knowing that in a way, he'd just lived up to his reputation, at least in Hermione's eyes.
