I've Got
To Get Out of Here

Prompt:
Breakdown
Word Count: 273
Summary: Sirius plans to break out of
Azkaban.
Notes: Sirius is still in Azkaban.
Sirius sat in his cell, alone and cold, shaking with hunger. It had been years since he'd seen the light of day, and this far he'd dealt with his fate very well.
He'd learned the routines of the dementors, and knew when to hide in the corner, trying to ignore their icy presence as much as one could.
Some days the guards never brought food to the prisoners. At the moment, it had been three days since Sirius had last eaten. This had happened in the past, but his emotions were catching up with him this time. He was lonely. It had been too long since he'd seen his friends. He could sense a hostility brewing within, and it made him feel uneasy. He had to get out of this place, but how? No one had ever even attempted breaking out of Azkaban, he'd be crazy to try.
He stood up, pacing the small room that he now called home. Home. He thought about his actual home. Did he even have a home now? James and Lily were dead. The tears welled up in his eyes. He picked up the small water cup sitting on the dirty floor, throwing it against the wall. He watched it shatter into hundreds of pieces. Even if he did break out, he had nowhere to go. Surely Remus wouldn't believe him, nobody did.
He felt like he was going mad, he knew that his breakdown would cause the dementors to come soon, he wasn't exactly being quiet. He didn't care at this point, all he cared about was getting out, and convincing his best friend he was innocent.
