Alright, so my first Young Justice fic! Not sure how I did, hopefully not too bad! It's kind of dark. Wally and Artemis are something like a couple in this, so its set farther into the future, so more then the episodes we've seen. Wally may seem a bit OOC, but we've never really seen him react to one of his friends or someone he cares about getting hurt.
Pairing: Wally/Artemis
Rating: T
Disclaimer: Not Mine.
"Why does it matter! Why do you even care!" Artemis yelled, throwing her arms up. She grimaced, putting a hand on her bandages on her rubs. Wally stared at her, his eyes narrowed, a frown on his face.
"You know why," he replied darkly, moving towards her slowly, his voice angry. "You know exactly why."
"Wally-"
"No! You're not invincible" He exploded. Time seemed to stand still for a moment. The bio-ship hesitated, and all talking ceased in the control center of the ship. "
"You might not care if you die Artemis, but I- we- do! You're our teammate! If you died I don't…" he trailed off, clearing his throat. Slowly, Artemis stepped forward. "Wally…"
He glanced down at her ribs, which were covered in a thick white bandage Megan had found. Robin and Kaldur had quickly wrapped the archer up. The wrappings were rapidly changing from white to pink. She wavered slightly, her eyelids drooping. Wally sped forward, catching her just as she fell. The bandages were damp and her stomach was slick with sweat under his hand. "You're a fucking idiot," he said quietly, pulling her up as gently as he could. She clutched at his arms, helping him.
"He was gonna kill you, if I hadn't gotten in the way," she muttered. Her eyes were dark. "You were right there, and if you had- if I hadn't..." she cleared her throat gently. "Don't you know? You're not invincible either Wally. What do you think would happen to us if you died? What would happen to me?"
He said nothing. Instead, he put an arm under her legs and lifted her up, struggling slightly under the extra weight, and brought her into the main part of the bio-ship.
Sorry it's so short everyone, but there will be more, promise!
If you liked it enough, please review!
