Title: Morning After
Pairing: Peter and Olivia
Rating: PG
Summary: A drabble. It takes place after the episode 4x15 "A Short Story About Love." Peter and Olivia have a morning discussion.
The sun rose to Olivia's eyes. Olivia smiled in her bed as Peter's arm wrapped around her. Sunrises are her favorite. A new day and a chance of hope has come. She noticed Peter moving and grumbled from the sun's growing glare. He doesn't like sunrises. He would rather sleep longer in the dark. He put his arm away from Olivia, grabbed the bed covers to shield his eyes, and turned away from the sun. Olivia giggled. It's something that they always do in her recent lifetime. Familiarity coming back to her. Since she was already awake, she got out of bed, got dressed and went to start the coffee machine in the kitchen. Peter felt the bed weight lifted. He sighed. Of course, Olivia would always get up to get coffee once the sun rises. However, today, like some days in his current lifetime (in fact, many years if the future lifetime counts), he wishes Olivia would stay in the bed all day with him and forget about work. Especially since they both just recently reunited with each other in this timeline.
He heard her footsteps and finally opened his eyes to see his Olivia, who is wearing her work clothes and standing by the door. "Good morning, I just made coffee." He nodded her, thanking her. Everything seems so normal to him as if him being non-existent never happened. He also noticed her looking worried.
"Today is going to be weird." She went back in the bed and her face close to his.
"Yes, as usual." Taken aback by her comment. They deal with weird cases everyday.
"No, I mean it's going to be weird because of us." Olivia cupped Peter's face. He forgot that there are people who would think this is weird that now they're a couple now. "Everyone will know about us and act differently."
Peter smiled. He knows what's bothering Olivia. "You look cute when you're upset."
Olivia scoffed and adjusted her pillow. She doesn't want to be teased. "Peter, I'm serious."
"You're going to be fine." Peter laughed and rubbed her shoulder, trying to comfort her.
"Really?"
"Yeah."
Olivia finally vented what she is really worried about. "They'll think I'm some stranger now. Like someone they can't trust anymore."
Peter shook his head. Still smiling and finding this situation admirable. He really does love Olivia. "No, they won't. They'll see the same person they've known all along but a -"He kissed her forehead."-teeny" He kissed her nose. "-tiny" He kissed her red cheeks. "-difference." Olivia rolled her eyes but started to feel better. Peter continued but in a serious manner. "They'll see the same woman who is strong, caring, sympathetic, understanding,-" Olivia smiled. She got the point but Peter, again, teasing her."-friendly, funny, smart, sexy."
"Peter!" Olivia grabbed his arm laughing, to stop describing everything about her. She got out of the bed and walked toward the door, she yelled sarcastically , "I hate you!"
Peter got dressed and followed Olivia to the kitchen. He leaned on the kitchen counter and with his mischievous smile, he said, "You hate me because I'm right. You hate me because I'm the guy you can't say no for a breakfast I'll be making for you."
Olivia smiled and hugged him. She whispered close to his ear with words that have deep meaning. "Thank you, Peter."
The End.
