A/N: Okay, I haven't even watched the whole episode, but I must have watched the clip a thousand times. Though I could better study for the exam I have in 1,5 hours hehe. Thanks to Dana for inspiring me with her icons! I hope you all like it, it's a very very short one shot about what happened in and after the last scene! Enjoy and please review! Oh... it's unbeta-ed, all mistakes are mine and only mine!

No Goodbye

You are lying on the bed, your arm propped up to support your weight. You're talking, though it seems like there's nobody to hear you. You know better of course. She's listening, listening like she always is. She's always been there to listen, only you didn't realize it before. It hurts you, deep in your soul, but to see her smile at you and look at you, makes the pain easier to bear.

She doesn't blame you, she's told you that many times. You were afraid that you would be too late, and that too much happened. But you're wrong, you couldn't have been too late. Many things happened, yes. You've denied her for a long time, yes. But most of all, you've denied yourself the love you could have all along.

You realized it in time though, she's here now, and you're here now. And you're talking, talking to her, knowing she's listening.

"I don't know... Most people wanna die in their sleep I suppose, never know that it's happening. Like a crime scene, 'surprise you're dead'." You joke, but the subject is serious. You wait a moment, thinking about how to say the next.

"I'd prefer to know it advance that I was going to die. I'd like to be diagnosed with cancer actually, have some time to prepare. Go back to the rainforest one more time, re-read Moby Dick, possibly enter an international chess tournament... "

You let out a deep sigh and watch how she comes out of the bathroom, dressed in her shining white robe. You swallow before the last sentence leaves your mouth. "At least have enough time to say goodbye to the people I love."

She leans down before you, leaning forward a little. "I'm not ready to say goodbye," she says. You know it now, she'll always be there for you. She won't leave.

You smile at her and reach out your hand to cup her cheek. She leans into your touch, and with your thumb you slowly trace the lines of her face. She smiles back at you and your hand leaves her face. As you sit up, both of your hands return to her face. With one of your fingers you trace the line of her bottom lip, before you capture her mouth with your own.

She leans into the kiss and moves to push you back on the bed. You let yourself fall backwards, taking her with you. Her mouth leaves yours as she gives a surprised yelp. But as soon as you're lying on your back, her mouth returns. She straddles you and places her hands on either side of your head as she kisses you passionately.

Your hands move to her waist to hold her close to you. The kiss grows more and more passionate every moment that passes and soon you both have to let go for air. She moves her hands to your face and traces a finger across your forehead, down your nose and to your lips. She gives you one final peck before she rolls to her side to lay next to you.

You wrap your arm around her body and press her closer. She snuggles up against you and lets out a contented sigh. "I love you," she whispers, kissing the side of your neck.

You smile and stroke her back. "I love you more," you respond and she leans back in surprise. You kiss her forehead. "I wouldn't know what to do without you," you say and a tear escapes your eye.

She wipes it away with her finger and when another one escapes she kisses it away. "Don't ever think about that. I'm here, and I love you, no matter what." She smiles softly and returns to her former position.

You pull her as close as possible, and whisper words of love into her ears. As she drifts off you press a final kiss to her crown before drifting off as well.

The End
