I own nothing!
The song is by Craig Morgan
For my sister
"Jeanne I'm so sorry, I should have checked the engine before I came and got you,
and I'm sorry about us missing the movie, I know how bad you wanted to see Step-Brothers." Curt Hawkins was on the verge of tears.
"Curt, don't be upset, it couldn't have been any better," She kissed his cheek and opened her apartment door. "Goodnight."
My car broke down on our first date,
We missed the movie and never ate
It was freezing cold, and the heater broke
I apologized, you kissed me goodnight,
And said it couldn't have been any better
Girl if you like that, you're gonna love forever.
Curt and Jeanne had been dating for a few months and she'd always go walking around downtown when he was away.
One day when they were walking together Jeanne stopped in front of the jewelry store and stood transfixed with her eyes locked on a large wedding ring.
"Curt, look at that ring, it's perfect. That's what I want if we ever get married." Curts face paled when he saw a sign that read: Price upon asking.
"It's a little big don't you think?" He said pulling Jeanne away from the window.
If you liked that ring you saw in the window,
At the jewelry store downtown
If you like tuxedos and white satin dresses,
Maybe you'd better sit down
If you like driftin' off to soft pillow talk
And wakin' up together
Girl if you like that, you're gonna love forever.
Two years after Curt and Jeanne had started dating they bought an old farm house. Every morning that Curt was home he would wake up early. He'd set the table and make Jeanne's coffee the way she liked it, when she'd come down stairs he hugged and kissed her.
"Sweetie, it's freezing, let's start a fire." Jeanne snuggled closer to Curt as they sat on the couch listening to music.
"I'm too cold, I can't move. Besides I'm comfortable." Curt smiled at her.
If you like livin' on a rural route, fixin' up an old farm house
Hugs with your coffee, and your good mornin's with a kiss
If you like startin' a fire on a cold winter's night,
And makin' dreams come true together
Girl if you like that, you're gonna love forever.
Late September into their third year Jeanne had convinced Curt to watch The Notebook with her, Zack, and his girlfriend Melanie.
Halfway through the movie Jeanne and Melanie were bawling and Curt and Zack were trying not to. Curt never wanted to admit it,
but after three years his relationship with Jeanne had gotten better everyday.
If you like that movie we saw last September,
The one you cried halfway through
And if you liked that scene where he got down on one knee,
Girl have I got something for you
If you like love like wine, that grows sweeter with time
And keeps getting better and better
Girl if you like that, you're gonna love forever.
Five years to the day, Curt had saved half of his paychecks to buy the ring Jeanne pointed out so long ago.
He sent Jeanne to the store to get more milk and cereal. When she came back she seemed upset.
"Babe what's wrong?" Curt asked as she stormed into the the house.
"The jewelry store, they sold the ring I wanted so bad. Curt, you have no idea as to how badly I wanted that ring."
Curt rubbed her shoulders. "Jeanne listen just go upstairs and take a bath, I'll make dinner, you shouldn't"
Jeanne grumbled all the way up the stairs. Five minutes after she went to take a bath, Jeanne screamed and rushed down the stairs.
When Curt stood up Jeanne jumped into his arms and kissed him.
"You bought that ring? Curt that's amazing." Jeanne kissed him over and over.
"So, is that a yes?" Curt asked when she started crying. For once Jeanne was speechless all she could do was nod.
If you like love like wine, that grows sweeter with time
And keeps getting better and better
Girl if you like that, you're gonna love forever,
Girl if you like that, you're gonna love forever.
