"Hello," she said, taking the prisoner by surprise. Alecto looked up at her, surprised that there was someone besides herself in her cell. How had this girl gotten inside?
"Oh, they let me in," the girl said, answering the unasked question. "They think I'm a hero of some kind. I don't agree, but it means I can visit you, so it's fine."
Alecto was confused by the girl's statement. She looked vaguely familiar to the former Death Eater, but she was certainly one of the Light Side. Why then, would she want to visit her?
The blonde girl walked closer and sat by Alecto. She flinched at the proximity, unused to it.
"What do you want?" she asked, her voice hoarse.
The girl smiled. "Nothing. Just to talk to you. The girwibbles told me you needed someone to talk to. And besides, I always thought you weren't a terrible person. I'm sure Voldemort forced you to do most of the things you did, so it's okay."
The nonsensical animal names reminded Alecto of the girl's name. Loony Lovegood, they all called her, but her name was Luna, wasn't it? A Ravenclaw. But what surprised Alecto was the way Luna was so ready to defend her actions as not her own.
"He...might have..." she sighed. It was not an untruth. She enjoyed parts of it, but a lot of those things had been too extreme, even for her own tastes. But there was no way she would let the Dark Lord down.
"Good," Luna said, shuffling around a bit before finding a relatively comfortable spot on the floor of the cell. Evidently, she was here to stay for a while.
For the first time in years, Alecto found herself smiling. Today might be a good day, gor a change.
Notes: For Maisie! It's not exactly Alecto/Luna but more like pre-relationship...soo...
