Jade was quite anxious. As she walked into her new high school for the first time, she thought about all the changes she was going to have to face. Not only was it her first year in high school, but her first year at this school. She knew no one, and honestly would rather be anywhere else than here.

She walked down the hallway, locker combination in hand, all while feeling extremely self-conscious. She felt as though everyone was looking at her: the new girl (also the girl who could not find her locker for the love of god.)

"Locker 409... where is locker 409?" she whispered to herself. With her eyes focused on the locker numbers around her, she bumped into something very big.

"Ouch! Watch where you're going," the thing she ran into shouted at her. She finally looked up, and her eyes met with his. They were a weird color, almost brown yet also green. Maybe hazel, she thought.

The boy she stumbled into looked at her with curiosity. "What are you, downsy? I said watch where you're going,"

Jade was surprised. Never had she been this attracted to someone who was so mean. "No, I'm not. I'm sorry I ran into you, I just couldn't find my locker. I-I'm new here," Great, she thought, here comes the stuttering.

"Oh, sorry then. What's your locker number?" he queried.

"Um it-it's a..." shit, how could I forget my locker number so easily?! Jade was taken aback by his eyes, his jawline, even his floppy light brown hair. She managed to gain her composure, though, and found the paper with her locker number.

"409. It's 409,"

"I know where that is, it's right next to mine. By the way, what's your first class?"

"Um, Physical Science, room 303." she responded.

"Cool, we have the same class," he told her, "I'll show you where to go to get to your locker," and with that, they walked away, together.
