A/N: Hey guys, thought I'd try something different here, as this pairing's not as talked about so here we go! Feedback of any kind is always appreciated :)
Set towards end of 'Avengers: Age of Ultron'
I do not own any of the characters in this work ... :( All creds to Marvel and whoever needs it

Respect. It was something Clint was of course accustomed to, yet he'd never felt such a strong sense of it than when the young boy, newly free to do what he pleased and in his prime, had sacrificed all that for his life. Well, his and a young civilian's life, but still... an act like that, so selfless, and Clint couldn't help but be overcome with respect. As he lay on the seats of the rescue vessel he looked down at the boy who gave his life for him. 'Damn,' he thought, 'Wanda is so gonna kill me.'
Surprisingly, their old pal Speedy Gonsalez had managed to cling on to his life for a little longer; his super-human speeds also seemed to speed up his healing process, which was handy, as it meant this time he was saved from Wanda's wrath. Clint couldn't help but feel guilty, as it was his life Pietro had chosen to value over his own putting him in this position, so it was that feeling that brought Clint down to the medical bay newly provided in the Avengers head quarters by Tony Stark himself. He felt exhausted from the last few days and wanted nothing more than to sleep for at least 17 years to catch up, but instead he was sitting himself in a seat in the corner of where Pietro was being monitored, cautious of Wanda sitting in the seat next to the bed holding her twins hand.
"Uh, hey. How's he doing?" He asked cautiously. He wondered if Wanda blamed him for her brother's state, and he totally wouldn't blame her if she did. So he took the careful approach, convinced with one wrong move he'd be torn apart in seconds.
"Honestly, I have no idea," she turned to smile at him, but it was sullen and made no attempt to reach her eyes. Clint felt another pang of guilt. At least it seemed like she didn't blame him, which was something. "I just hope to god he will recover soon. I haven't ever been without him, not once. And it's not a feeling I would like to get used to." Her eyes looked red from upset and exhaustion.
"I-" He paused not knowing if what he wanted to say was even worth saying, if it would mean anything, but he had to do it. For his own sake if no one else's. "I'm so sorry Wanda. If I had gone about things differently, if maybe I ha-" Wanda's hand rose, signalling to Clint to stop his rambling which he did instantly. He knew what those hands were capable of.
"Please, there's no need. He made this decision. Stupid boy. We're going to have to live with it. It's the least he deserves." Clint nodded in agreement, understanding fully what she meant, what this meant to her. He noticed then how she had slumped more, her eyes half closed, her head bobbing lightly.
"Get some rest." He said gently. Getting up, he strode over to her swiftly placing a hand on her shoulder as she started to protest leaving her brother. "It's fine, he'll be fine. I'm gonna stay here. I promise you I won't leave him. But you and I both know it won't be any help if the moment he wakes up, you collapse on top of him from exhaustion, hm? It'll only freak him out more and we do not need or want any more drama. Okay?"
She contemplated this for a moment, before a look of defeat appeared on her face. "O-okay. Thank you, Barton. Really. But promise me you'll call me here if anything, and I mean anything, happens. Promise?" Wanda made to stand, wobbling slightly as she did so, causing Clint to instinctively reach out to help her regain her balance.
"Pinky promise." He smirked at her, hoping to lighten the mood. And it seemed to work. Wanda smiled back at him, the closest to a real smile Clint could ever had hoped to get considering the circumstances. She murmured a 'good night' as she slowly made her way up to her room, as Clint settled down in the chair she had just occupied. He looked down at the light haired boy who saved his life no more than a few hours ago.
Boy, was this gonna be a long night.

A/N: Ta Daa! I purposely kept this a little short as I'm not too sure where I'm going with this one to be perfectly honest, but I'm really enjoying this so I'll probably write more anyway. If you have any suggestions on what to add I'd love to hear it. Please, constructive not cruel. Thank you :)
