Author's note: So yeah, I wrote this poem. It was originally only background words on an image I made for my friend to use as her LiveJournal background image, but.. I really kinda liked it. :D So I wrote it all down. And here it is! Oh, yeah, and... it's a Seifer poem. Sort of in his point of view. Of course, I didn't rhyme, because I can't. :D But I used repetition. A lot. And yeah. Enjoy. (I hope.)
I Could
I could be like that guy, or that guy, or that guy.
I could be like anyone.
I could be like any man you'd find walking down the street.
I could be any guy who would take your heart and run.
I could shatter your dreams, your soul, your heart.
I could take what's yours and claim it as mine.
I could win, completely defeat you.
I could cheat, play dirty.
I could be the kind of guy you'd take home to your parents, or
I could be the guy you wish you'd never met.
I could be your soulmate,
I could be your lover,
I could be your brother, son, best friend.
I could be your enemy,
I could be your rival,
I could be the center of your hate, loathing, anger.
I could be your knight in shining armour, or
I could be your worst enemy, draped in a cloak of darkness.
I could be yours.
I could be no one's.
I could belong to you, or I could belong to nobody.
I could change.
I could stay the same.
I could steal your heart,
I could protect your heart,
I could break your heart.
I could get away with anything, or I could get caught in a heartbeat.
I could commit the perfect murder, or I could die trying.
I could try my best and know I succeeded, or
I could do my worst and know I tried.
I could do anything I want,
I could be anything I want,
I could choose anything I want.
But most of all, I can be me.
