1Title: Idle Time: Part Deux

Author: Angela

Rating: G

Summary: Life for Darien and Bobby isn't as exciting as they'd like you to think.

"Coke or Pepsi?"

"Pepsi."

"Oh yeah? Why is that?"

"Coke leaves a funny taste in my mouth. Pepsi cans are prettier, too."

"Come on, Fawkes, are you telling me you like one more than the other because of the can it comes in?"

"I'm just saying, the Pepsi can looks better than the Coke can."

"You don't drink the can."

"Moving on. David Lee Roth or Sammy Hagar?"

"As front men or musicians?"

"As front men."

"Hagar."

"He was a goofball!"

"Roth was too worried about his hair to be a real leader."

"So I guess you would have related to him better if he had been bald?"

"If he'd been less of a cocky schmuck."

"If you say so."

"..."

"Well?"

"I can't think of anything else."

"It's not that hard."

"Then you come up with something, genius."

"Pat Benatar or Deborah Harry?"

"Debbie."

"No way does she beat Pat Benatar! Remember when she used to curl her lip and wear those skin-tight pants?"

"Blondie was all eyes, Fawkes. One look into those beauties, and you're gone."

"Well, that answers that question."

"What question?"

"Lips or eyes?"

"Eyes are the window to the soul, Fawkes."

"Nice, Bobby. That's not cliche at all."

"The eyes tell all, my friend. That's how you know if you're being duped."

"I thought all Bobby Hobbes needed was his instincts."

"That's right, they never fail."

"Then you wouldn't need to look in her eyes. You would just know, right?"

"You're making this way too complicated, Fawkes."

"I'm just pointing out an obvious flaw here."

"This is a game. Stop reading so much into it."

"Getting a little defensive, aren't you, Hobbes?"

"Never again are we playing this game."

"But –"

"Just sit there and read your comic books, Fawkes."

"You should lighten up, Hobbesy. Maybe do some stretches."

"Fawkes!"

"What do you think: yoga or pilates?"

"I'm stopping right here and dropping you off. That's what I'm doing if you don't stop right now."

"Okay, geez."

sigh

"You want a mint, Hobbes?"

"Sure, what've you got?"

"Altoids or Tic-Tacs?"
