She paced back and forth across that piece of moor almost as if waited for someone. She was semi-transparent and did not appear very solid. She did not walk, though but glided several inches off the ground.
Abruptly, a man clambered over a hill and spotting her started to sprint toward her. He had a grey beard and a plain brown cloak. He was very solid and real looking; nothing was astonishing about him except for how he had appeared out of the blue on the moor. His name was Qui-gon Jinn.
Tahl (for that was her name) turned and saw him, but did not seem all that surprised. Her face showed more or less no emotion. Usually, this was the case for Qui-gon, as well, but now he grinned, and reaching Tahl gave her a kiss on the cheek.
She stiffened "Qui-gon, you're holding me back."
"How? From what?" He was startled and disappointed in his reception.
"I wish to become one with the Force. Your longing is keeping me here.
You love me, yes, but as a Jedi you must not love me so."
Tahl continued, "You must release such powerful emotions into the Force or they
will be your defeat."
" Tahl, feelings can not kill me."
" You can be defeated and still live. Surly you know that by now. You saw what happened to Anakin."
"Yes but he was full of hate. I am full of love,"
He smiled at her hopefully. She did not smile back
" Just let me go. I am the past. You have dwelled on me too long. Now you are neglecting Luke, he is the future."

"I will do as you say, I will do any thing for you, Tahl." He paused "But I'm not sure I can."
" Meditate with me. I can help you."
Tahl had such a command of the Force now. He could not tell where they were going, but let her lead. And it seemed really a journey though emotions and wonders. Slowly it was over; Qui-gon still felt love for Tahl; but it was different a Jedi type of love.
As Qui-gon came out of his meditation he was once again on Tatoonine.
