''I love Robin Hood," she said it with more certainty than she felt, she felt, maybe that saying it out loud would make it the complete and whole truth. She was wrong. As soon as those words left her mouth she realised it was bait, she wanted him to be angry, she wanted him to feel every bit of pain that was possible. She wanted for him to feel as she did when she realised who he was, and what he'd done. He had lied to her, and without even looking a little sorry. He had tried to kill the King. Robin was right, all this time she was protecting him, wanting to help him, thinking he that he could change, believing that there was still a little bit of good left in his cold hard heart, he was lying, killing and plotting with the sheriff.
His betrayal had hurt more than she thought it would, she had thought that she could no longer feel such pain after all that had happened. Again she was wrong.
He must have been hurting too, if that was possible, but she was too angry to care. He had so many chances to change, perhaps more than he deserved, but not once did he follow the right path.
Your last chance.
She would have done it. Married him, just as she had promised. She would have done it even after she discovered that Robin was still alive, if he had taken that chance.
But now... She didn't know what she was doing anymore, she didn't even care whether she lived or died, in fact the dying seemed to sound blissful, quiet, away from all the confusion and pain of living.
It was close, she could see that he was close to breaking. He just needed a little nudge.
"I love Robin Hood." She repeated, her heart pounding against her ribs. Her last thought before he lunged forwards, his face stricken with grief, was that a part of her had loved Guy of Gisborne, and it could have grown, had they let it. She was sorry, that he was the one who ended her life.
