Well, I've always thought that this song was totally Jenny. So, here ya go. If I get any requests, I'll expand this into multiple songfics, but as of now it stands on its own.

Jolene, by Dolly Parton

Jolene,

Jolene,

Jolene,

Jolene,
I'm begging of you please don't take my man

Her first thought was how she hadn't heard this song in a while. Not since Paris, in fact. Leave it to fate to bring it up in a bar in DC, when she was down. Life just had to rub it in her face.

Jolene,

Jolene,

Jolene,

Jolene,
Please don't take him just because you can

She swallowed another glass of Bourbon, thinking way more about the lyrics than she was supposed to. She was suddenly angry with Dolly Parton. She just had to write this stupid song.

Your beauty is beyond compare
With flaming locks of auburn hair
With ivory skin and eyes of emerald green
Your smile is like a breath of spring
Your voice is soft like summer rain
And I cannot compete with you, Jolene

He used to call her Jolene. He used to tell her that her beauty was beyond compare. He used to say that no one could compete with her. And now that was gone.

He talks about you in his sleep
There's nothing I can do to keep
From crying when he calls your name, Jolene

She briefly wondered if he missed her as much as she missed him. If it broke that demon witch Hollis's heart to hear him talk about her.

And I can easily understand
How you could easily take my man
But you don't know what he means to me, Jolene

She hoped that if she dared bring it up, he would take her back. She knew something could have come of it, if only she hadn't been foolish enough to throw it away.

Jolene,

Jolene,

Jolene,

Jolene,
I'm begging of you please don't take my man
Jolene,

Jolene,

Jolene,

Jolene,
Please don't take him just because you can

She downed another glass. Damn it, would this song never end?

You could have your choice of men
But I could never love again
He's the only one for me, Jolene

She could have chosen any of the various politicians and agents who tried to court her. But none of them were him. He was the only one for her, and she knew that Hollis would survive without him, she had seen them together. Now the song was lying on Hollis's part.

"How the hell can a song lie, Jenny?" she muttered to herself. "Maybe I should stop…"

I had to have this talk with you
My happiness depends on you
And whatever you decide to do, Jolene

She ordered one last round of bourbon. Self pity never got anyone anywhere. She wished she could change things, but she didn't think he would ever forgive her. Oh, how stupid could she have been, to leave him! Now she desperately wanted him back. But she would never act on that, because she still had her pride to keep her back.

Jolene,

Jolene,

Jolene,

Jolene,
I'm begging of you please don't take my man
Jolene,

Jolene,

Jolene,

Jolene,
Please don't take him even though you can
Jolene,

Jolene

The bell on the bar door jingled as it slammed shut and the redhead walked out into the night. In one way, the Jolene in her would let her waltz back into his life and take him for herself. In another way, that very same Jolene in her kept her from doing so.

So was it any good? Please tell me!
