tune of blue
written by carolyn snow, 2011

breathing deeply, her melody coming out
disjointed, but pure. you don't know
when the keys will change, when a legato
goes to staccato to a tripe-tied open hum.

looking like both, looking like neither,
a child of three: her notebook containing
the world of time, her masterplan,
companionguide. her eyes full of their

despair, coaxing hope, her knowledge
deep and vast; two separate rivers,
a thousand million depths.

they at the precipice, a journey just beginning;
she who has sung a thousand tunes, as explorer
lover almostgod. a gleam of the infinite is in her,
but time has not yet worked her miracle.
