Blood Bonds

Hello my wonderful readers. Hope everyone is enjoying the summer. Sorry I have been absent for a while in the fanfiction world. Just lots of crazy real life things happening and unfortunately causing serious writer's block. However after some serious consideration and sparking up my creativity, I decided to rewrite this story and continue with my sequels. *SO EXCITED*

On a few notes, the turtles are based somewhat between the 2k14 movie and 2003 cartoon. They're slightly older (Leonardo-22, Raphael-21, Donatello-20, and Michelangelo-19). I hope you enjoy this reboot as you did the first series. Please read and review so I can continue to entertain your brain.

DISCLAIMER: I, luvgrentmnt, don't own TMNT. Just the plot.

Prologue

This can't be real. It's impossible.

Thousands of rational explanations rushed through his mind yet nothing could satisfy his curiosity of tonight's incidents. As the blue masked leader scanned the rooftop's surroundings, he secretly prayed the rain would snap him out of his denial.

"Uh, Leo?"

Leonardo quickly spun around to find his youngest brother carefully stepping back from the wall. The look of panic danced in Michelangelo's eyes as he reached for his nunchucks. Immediately his other two brothers rushed to Leonardo's side. Their eyes narrowed down to slits, their weapons drawn and ready.

Leonardo's eyes flickered over to his right where his hot tempered brother stood. Raphael tightened his fingers onto his sais until his green knuckles turned white. His lips pulled tight into a thin line across his face. Not too far away Donatello carefully positioned his bo staff in front. Though the genius turtle remained silent, it wasn't hard to hear the wheels in his head spinning nonstop.

"We know you're there. Come on out or else," Leonardo commanded firmly.

The air remained still and quiet except for the rain pounding the concrete rooftop and the steady pace of the Hamato brothers' breaths.

As if on cue, lightening flashed across the stormy sky scattering the night shadows away. The turtles quickly shifted into fighting stance as four figures appeared before them. Leonardo narrowed his eyes to watch and study his new opponents. They were dressed in dark clothing. Their faces were hidden beneath the hoodies. Who were they?

It was then the tallest figure pulled out a large sword from beneath its coat and slowly stepped forward until he was a few feet away from Leonardo. Leo felt the adrenaline kicking into overdrive making the muscles coil up like a spring ready to pop.

"Or else what?" A baritone voice asked. The figure slowly raised his sword until the tip was inches from Leo's nose. "What are you willing to do?"

"Fucking pricks," Raphael yelled. Leonardo saw his brother's jaw clench hard fighting hard to keep his composure.

"Fucking traitors," Raph screamed. He could taste the metallic taste of blood sipping on his tongue as he gritted his teeth. Leonardo felt the tension growing thicker in the atmosphere. He shook his head.

"You don't want to do this." His voice remained cold and stoic. He slowly unsheathed his katanas and brought them to his side. "Stand down. Let's end this peacefully."

Immediately a throaty chuckle echoed in the night. The figure slowly reached up and pulled back the hoodie.

"What the shell?" Donatello whispered as his eyes widened in shock. A huge smirk spread across the figure's face at the purple masked turtle's confusion as he shook his head. "I don't think so.

Raphael felt his body shaking violently as he watched everything unfold in front of him. How the hell is Fearless Leader letting this punk run his mouth like that? He would've tried to stand his ground like he was told like a good little brother he could be. Until he saw it.

That ridiculous arrogant smile.

The very smile that broke Raphael's thin patience. The smile he was going to enjoy wiping off across the ground.

"RAPH, NO," Leonardo screamed as a streak of red and green flew passed.

"Challenge accepted," the stranger whispered as he drew back his sword and ready. Suddenly another figure rushed forward throwing their shoulder into Raphael's stomach slamming the red masked turtle into the ground. Leonardo turned to his younger brothers and motioned for an attack. The time for trucing was over.

Thunder boomed shaking the building as the rain began to pick up the pace. Leonardo swung his katana and locked into the figure's sword. A hard hook to the jaw made spots cloud Leo's vision making him stumble backwards. He quickly shook his head as he swung his foot in an arc contacting with the figure's head.

Leonardo tightened his grip on his katana watching the figure get back on his feet. Whoever he was fighting was well established in combat. The figure yelled as he charged at Leonardo with his sword swinging down fast and hard. Leo embraced himself as the figure bared all of his strength down on the sword inching it closer and closer to Leonardo's face. Suddenly he lashed his leg out and struck the figure in the middle of his chest. The figure flew backwards onto the ground.

Leonardo gathered to his feet and placed his blade on his opponent's exposed throat. "Now I want some answers."

"LEO! LEO!"

His heart stopped cold as the cries of his name reached his ears. He glanced up to see Donatello and Raphael standing at full attention. Their faces contorted in panic and confusion. Leonardo followed their glares until his eyes rested at the unsettling sight.

Near the building ledge Michelangelo sat on his knees. His eyes filled with panic and head jerked high towards the sky. Raphael started to run towards his baby brother when something caught his eye. Something metallic glittered against Mikey's throat.

"DROP YOUR WEAPONS NOW!" Another figure yelled from behind Michelangelo pressing the knife harder. A small whimper escaped the orange masked turtle's lips as a small trickle of blood slid down his neck.

The remaining turtles looked to one another for once unsure of what to do. At last they tossed their weapons off to the side. The new figure nodded its head. "NOW LET HIM GO!"

Leonardo looked down at the tall figure whom began to laugh uncontrollably. Raphael shook his head and said, "Leo, no."

"What choice do we have?" Leo removed his foot and watched the tall figure walk towards his companion.

"You know what to do." The companion bowed its head and shifted its attention to the brothers. "Good enough," the figure snickered as the knife slid across Michelangelo's neck.

A/N: OMG, what happened to Mikey? Is he okay? Is it too late? What did our ninja boys get into this time? Stay tuned. Forgot to add that I still have the original story in my computer just in case.
