"Why do you always keep me at an arms link?"
She looks at him, but she doesn't answer.
"Why won't you just let me in?"
"Why are you doing this?" she quizzes.
"I have to know the truth. I'm tired of playing this game."
"And what game is that?"
"I want to be with you. Why can't you want that too?"
"It's not like I love you," she answers.
"I don't believe you."
"That's up to you," she tells him coldly.
"Fine," he huffs, turning to leave.
"What are you doing?"
He looks her in the eye, "This is me, leaving. If you don't want this, that's fine."
"Don't do this to me," he begs.
"Do what?"
"Walk away from me, looking that good."
"What do you want from me?" she asks.
"I just want you," he admits.
"You can't have me."
"Why not? I love you. We're meant to be together. Why can't you see that?"
"I don't want to do this," she answers.
"Please don't walk away from me."
"Try and stop me," she tests him.
"I want you to have my baby," he tells her.
She spins around. "What?"
"I want you to have my baby. I want you to be the mother to my child, to my children."
"You can't be serious."
"I am," he assures her.
"I can't."
"Why not?"
"Because it's not like I love you," she lies.
He moves in dangerously close. He doesn't stop until his lips are touching hers. She savors the kiss for a moment and then pushes him away. "Why did you do that?"
"Because I'm madly in love with you."
She purses her lips and shakes her head.
"I would never hurt you, don't you know that by now?"
"I'm not worried about that. I don't want to hurt you. I don't want to break your heart."
"Tell me the truth," he begs.
"About what?" she blinks away a tear.
"Why don't you want to be with me?"
"I don't love you," she lies.
"Please. I just want to be with you."
"I can't be with you. I won't be with you."
"I love you. And I know that you love me. I can see it by the look in your eyes."
"I don't know what you see, but I don't love you," she lies to him.
"You're going to have to prove that to me," he tells her.
