"And here it comes again
Straight through the heart
Straight through the heart"
The cold, autumn wind blew past her face. Messing up her red untidy hair. She was standing there, hand in hand with Harry James Potter, shaking as the words she dreaded escaped from his pale mouth.
"Ginny, I don't know how to put this. I… I don't love you anymore."
The words skewered her heart, smashing it into thousands upon thousands of little, tiny, insignificant pieces. She'd spent the past five years hiding her undying love for that certain raven haired boy and now, after a few weeks that dream, that world, her life, shattered.
Her entire being stood still, not moving a single inch. The soul that once occupied the young, spirited redhead was now gone. All the stood their at the shore of the lake was the boy who lived and an empty shell.
"I hope we can still be friends?"
One single word was all that needed to be said. A variety of words could be used, yes, sure, yeah, certainly, okay and more but all it had to be was an easy to pronounce word. As her lip quivered her mind stayed blank. She could feel something building from the core of her body. A familiar feeling rose up and consumed her. The black void occupied her stomach and the tears crept up into her eyes as a single drop of liquid water fell down her cold, lifeless face.
She tried her best to stop the onslaught. The army of water that would cover her freckled face. Resistance was futile. It was inevitable. It started with one and it wouldn't stop until her eyes were bone dry. The second tear fell. She had to escape. She didn't want to be here, staring into the beautiful emerald eyes of her past lover, she couldn't bear the thought of his name.
It hurt too much.
"Ginny, I'm sorry." Is all that she could make out as she turned around and sprinted back to the aged castle, tears streaming down her face, mimicking her red, fiery hair of the girl who no-longer knew what happiness was.
