Sammy Da Vinci

"Deannie?"

Dean gazed down. Hazel eyes looked back at him with unexplainable fervor.

"Sammy?" Dean ruffled his baby brother's mopped hair.

"C'ere." Sammy tugged at his arm, wanting him to follow. Dean let Sammy guide him to Bobby's reading room – where Sammy had spent his day playing with his makeshift toys.

Sammy stopped and reached for Dean's face, winking and blinking as if he wanted Dean to follow suit. "Close eyes."

"Wha…" Dean was dumbfounded when the puppy eyes were flashed in full mode. He sighed and closed his eyes. Sammy took his hand and led him into the room.

"Okay."

Dean opened his eyes and gawked at the sight greeting him. There was a big drawing of two stick figures - one taller than the other - holding hands, done in bright colors. Crayons were scattered around the room, along with some torn papers. 'Artist in the making always starts with a mess' Dean thought.

"It's you n' me." Sammy stated proudly. Beads of sweat started to form on his forehead as he rambled about his artwork. He explained it with such fervor, Sammy was barely breathing.

"Happee bwirfday Deannie!" Sammy hugged Dean's middle tight and firm.

Dean was taken aback but genuinely smiled. "Thanks Sammy." Seeing Sammy's fervent effort, Dean didn't have the heart to tell him it was not yet his birthday.

Looking at the drawing, Dean scratched his head.

"Now, let's find a way to hide it before Bobby found out you drew on his wall."
