Been and Gone . . . but Coming Again

The vibe around the estate just screamed chaos! Alison knew this would probably turn out to be one of the most important days of her life, up there with getting married, and giving birth. David just didn't understand though, all he kept saying was "calm down, everything will be fine, don't worry." He was repeating it like a mantra. Why didn't he understand how important this was to her?

He knew she wanted everything to be just perfect, and wouldn't relax until it was. I mean whose idea was it to have Bryonie's christening on the same day as the Mid-summer Ball? She knew how important it was to David, it was where his mother and father confessed their feelings for each other and, famously, got engaged with the ring-pull! But it was still tough on her, even thought her mother had helped tremendously.

* * * Finally Alison could relax. They where there in church, all the family around them (with the usual exceptions of course), and the vicar was ready to christen Bryonie.

They where all standing around the font, the vicar repeated her name for everyone to hear, "Bryonie Jayne MacDonald" With that Alison breathed a sigh of relief as David put his arm round her. They looked straight into each other's eyes and smiled. Suddenly the church doors burst opened, "Aah, David, they said I'd find you here!"
