Her prison cell stank of sweat and the odor of a thousand worlds. The olive skinned girl sat on the rough matress and folded her arms.

She had been exposed, the Jedi, her kin, had gotten the justice they so rightly wanted. It was her she did it.

Barriss looked around at the meager excuse for a room she was forced to inhabit for the time being. It wasn't much different from her quarters in the Jedi Temple, that vile place.

She reached into her pouch and produced a miniture idol which she place on the floor and began meditating in its prescence. It was identical in everything but size to the one she always kept in her quarters.

After she calmed her mind she heard the hum of repulsorlifts.

"There's someone here to see you." The clone gaurd said into the intercom.

Barriss rose from her serinity and faced the gaurds. Between them stood her old friend Ahsoka. The gaurds nodded at each other assuridly and then left the two girls alone, they were safe enough.

"What. What are you doing here?" Barriss asked through the intercom as she faced her friend through the energy barrier.

"I came to see if you were being treated fairly . . . After what you did to me, I just . . ." The Togruta trailed off not knowing what to say.

"Well I'm fine, thank you, and you can run home to your Master for all I care." Barriss snapped knitting her brow and scruntching her freckle shaped tattoos.

"Barriss I . . . " The girl trailed off again.

For the first time Barriss made eye contact with her old friend. She was so grown up now. She looked and noticed the empty spot on her friend's belt where her lightsabers used to rest.

"I left the Jedi." Ahsoka finally confessed placing her hand on the buzzing energy wall between them.

"Why did you let it get this bad? You could've told the Council how you were feeling. You could've told me."

"I don't care for the opinion of cowards." Barriss snapped still keeping her face locked in a vile expression.

"Barriss . . . " Ahsoka said opening her blue eyes wide, her voice carried a sad note.

Barris's expression softened as she saw the innocence in Ahsoka's eyes.

"I'm sorry." Barriss said softly.

"Sorry for what?" Ahsoka inquired.

"I'm sorry I set you up. I'm sorry I attacked the Temple. In my pain I lashed out and hurt those closest to me. Especially you Ahsoka." Barriss said with intense eyes.

"Promise me that when I get out of here that we'll still be friends." She asked.

"I don't know, Barriss, after you betrayed the Jedi, and me, I don't know if I can trust you again." Ahsoka said looking at her feet.
