After Serena lost her Pokémon contest she was really depressed. She gave herself a haircut out of grief. She was sitting at the harbor looking at all the boats when Ash came and sat down by her.

Holy crap Ash is hot in the evening light, Serena thought trying not to blush.

"You okay?" Ash asked her.

"Yeah," She said not reassuringly. Ash seemed to know what she was feeling.

"Don't worry," Ash said, "There will always be another chance to win. Whenever I lose a battle, I train and train until I feel like I just can't lose!"

Serena nodded absently. She could relate somewhat to that. But this one felt really important. She felt herself growing hot inside.

"You don't know what it's like," Serena replied trying not to sound rude, "We worked really hard."

"I understand," Ash said putting his hand on her shoulder. Serena couldn't help but blush although it wasn't obvious in the light of the setting sun. This could be her chance.

"Ash?" Serena said nervously, "Will you go out with me?" Ash started.

"You mean like on a date?" Ash asked slowly. Serena blushed deeper.

"Well… kinda. It doesn't have to be anything big or special. It could just be like going out for dinner sometime or something." Serena mumbled struggling to get her feelings out.

"Well," Ash said, "There's still some time left tonight." Serena felt as if her heart was going a million miles an hour. She didn't think it would be this easy.

"Come on," Ash said standing up and extending his hand, "I can take you out for dinner and a dance at the Pokémon Concert Hall,"

Serena somehow managed to blush again and was helped up by Ash. The rest of the night was the best time that Serena had ever had.
