The Birthmark Kid

Where did they go?

I thought they went up here

And from his glossy eyes

Slid a slivery tear

While on top of the hill

The boys at last came

Upon a way to light

A small rescue flame

So they lit their little light

And then watched as the breeze

Plucked up one tiny ember

Set afire all the trees

As the small child wept

He saw, much to his shock

The blaze, and in fear

He slipped off Castle Rock

But his perilous plunge

And sharp, piercing scream

Went unnoticed—the boys

Were entranced by the gleam.
