X & Y

"Come on mom listen to it..." Anya clicked the boombox on and the music streamed from the mesh plated speakers.

All those signs, I knew what they meant.
Some things you can invent.
Some get made, and some get sent,
Ooh?
Birds go flying at the speed of sound,
to show you how it all began.
Birds came flying from the underground,
if you could see it then you'd understand,
ah, when you see it then you'll understand?

"Sound like anyone we know?" Sarah smiled at her daughter, princess of the Goblin Kingdom, and stood to leave. Anya knew her mother. If she was shouting through the stressful situation then she was going to be okay, but, if she got quiet you got gone. Which is what Anya hoped her father was doing right now.

Jareth sat listening to a disgruntled goblin who had trouble with someone poaching a chicken or he couldn't figure out how to poach his eggs. Even the monarch of the minion couldn't unravel the mushy mouthed words. When his queen stepped in everything seemed a bit less troublesome. That was until he saw how quiet she was. The goblin had the keen sense to shut his yap and scurry away.

He conjured a crystal to nonchalantly check where he might want to go and just as he was about to poof away Sarah double fisted his poofy collar.

"You said Toby was the last!" Her hair was coming away from her pretty little hair-do and it made her look so attractive. If only she looked less murderous.

Jareth placed both his hands on hers and smiled a bit afraid. "What is this about dearest?"

*One song later*

"I haven't the foggiest idea."

Sarah tapped her toe suspiciously and glared at her husband. "Oh really?"

Jareth looked at Sarah. "This Chris Martin fellow has not once traveled along the Z axis. When it comes to the world he has stayed on the surface."

Sarah's toe stopped and she looked nervous. "Chris Martin?"

Jareth studied her, "Yes?"

"No."

"What is it Sarah?"

Sarah just shrugged and started to walk away but Jareth appeared in front of her. His canines were bared as he smiled just a bit. "What have you remembered Sarah?"

"He went by Tony. It can't be."

"Oh, I think it can."

Sarah sighed, "When I was fifteen I was babysitting this ten year old name Tony but his name was-"

"Christopher Anthony John Martin?" Jareth was really enjoying this.

"Yes."

Jareth did a little dance. "Ha. For once you made a mistake. Anya!"

"Don't you dare bring our daughter into this!"

Jareth just looked at her, "Really?" Then he was gone.

Sarah started running down the hall, cursing her inability to transport, "It's not fair."
