Author's Note: I'm joining this to a series of fic's all written listening to a song, this one was 'Viva Forever' by The Spice Girls. This doesn't necessarily mean the story carries a similar essence to the song or some other such, it just means I was listening to it and it inspired me to write this story.

She sat there, her fingers trailing over the smooth marble replication over the tomb he was incased in. Well, not he, the part of him she had loved was gone now; the spirit having traveled to wherever it was a mortal's soul went. Her body was parched, dry, and wrinkled, having aged from what she had once been.

She was glad her family had traveled west, as she would have been ashamed to have them see her in this state. She already had her plans, and everything taken care of. She would stay for a month to help her son with his chore of becoming a king, and then she would leave, alone, and go to the one place that would comfort her during her last days.

She thought back to when she was young, the Evenstar of her people, the elves, and she remembered that many had sought her hand. But it had been a scruffy ranger, a king of men, who had stolen her heart and her soul from her with one look.

He had been handsome, rugged, un-bathed most of the time, and he had been passionate. A light shone out his eyes from his soul. A man who was untamable, fought the pull of destiny by his teeth, and in the end, he had taken that path up and made it to be something great, fantastical, that children would beg to have told to them at bed time in the years to come.

It was the story of a man, with eight fellows, one for all the free peoples of Middle Earth, had banded together to combat the evil trying to destroy their world. The evil wanted to enslave them or kill them and mutate the beauty of the land and it's people into something ugly. Something that none could stand to look at, and thinking of how it had once been would be too hard because of the pain it would cause in ones gut and heart.

She had loved him, and he her, and they had had such a grand life together, that now, so close to her last days, she did not regret a single moment of that time together. Even though this life was but a speck to what she could have had, it would have been empty without the fire that blazed from him and wrapped her up so tight she could do nothing but relax and be swept away by the force of it.

She smiled a moment, and a single tear slipped its way down her cheek, but it was wiped away quickly, because even though she had no idea where it was a mortal went after death, she just knew in her heart that it would be with him that she ended up. So this was just a temporary separation, and they would meet again and be the young lovers they had once been. She would be happy soon, but not just yet.
