Da goil all da geeks want (Dutchy one-shot)

Modern day

I don't own Newsies in any way.

She walked into the library catching the attention of all the boys. Of course…wearing a cheerleading outfit makes you stand out a bit. She dropped her sports bag and backpack by a table and went off to find a book. She was leaning against a bookshelf reading humming, "Masquerade", from Phantom of the Opera. Phantom of the Opera happened to be Dutchy's favorite movie/musical.

"Masquerade…paper faces on display…hide your face so the world will never find you", she sang.

"Floating, falling, sweet intoxication! Touch me, trust me savor each sensation! Let the dream begin, let your darker side give in", Dutchy sang to her.

Her head shot up.

"To the power of the music that I write. The power of the music of the night ...You alone can make my song take flight. Help me make the music of the night", Dutchy sang.

"Dutch?", she asked.

Dutchy blushed.

She pulled books out of the bookshelf and found a blushing Dutchy looking at her.

"Uh…hey", Dutchy said.

"So who're you?", she asked.

"I'm…uh", Dutchy stuttered.

"Raoule or Phantom?", she asked.

Dutchy laughed and said, "Raoule".

"Who will be Phantom then?", Evie asked.

"What about him?", Dutchy asked. Dutchy pointed to the star quarter-back Spot Conlon.

Evie burst out laughing.

The librarian hushed Dutchy and Evie.

"Wanna get some lunch?", he asked.

"Sure", she said grabbing her bags.

Dutchy carried her backpack for her.

"Uh…Dutch…so you wanna hang out sometime?", Evie asked.

Dutchy blushed and said, "Sure. When?"

"Well…I have practice tonight, the freshman football game tomorrow, the game Friday…gee…I really don't know Dutchy", she said.

Dutchy took her hand and said, "Don't freak Eve".

She pulled Dutchy closer and said, "Well…I could get out of practice".

"How?", Dutchy asked.

"Like this", she said fake fainting.

"What happened?", Anthony (also known as Racetrack)asked.

"Dunno…she just passed out", Dutchy said trying to hide the smile on his face.

"Dutch, why don't you take her home?", Jack suggested.

Dutchy picked her up and her bags and carried her out of the cafeteria.

She woke up and jumped up.

"Good act", Dutchy said.

"Thanks", she said kissing him.

"Where to now?", Dutchy asked.

"Me, you, and Titanic", she said.

"I like it", Dutchy said leading her to his car.

"I thought you would", she said smirking.
