To defy everything and bring back a loved one, isn't that what everyone wants? To bring back the dead and be given a second chance with them. An alternative sequel to "What if Takato died?" What if Rika was able to defy EVERYTHING and bring him back, to bring Takato back, to have him join her on her plane rather then the other way around. Here's my story, listen to it well.

Rika stood in her apartment room, staring out the window, looking across town. She didn't blink, even with the tears flowing from her eyes. She was. devastated by Takato's death of course, but she can't do anything about it, she can't defy reality and bring him back. A successful writer and her more saddening story ever; "To lose it all" had made her a very wealthy woman. She just continued to cry, looking at a photo of herself and her precious goggle-head. Together. so in love, so together, they thought they would be like that til the end of time. There was nothing more she would love to do then to feel his touch, his voice, and his presence. Rika's memories flooded her mind, everything from their first kiss to their last embrace. She was a woman that lived in nostalgia, her friends and family try their best to comfort her, but no avail, and she is always heart stricken, always sad and forever alone. She turned on the TV to try and clear her mind. It was on the news of course, and the report caught her eye.

"A scientist named James Duke has made a BIG breakthrough today, he has a theory that might be able to revive the dead, of course such a daring approach to the scientific world is literally ghastly. No one is willing to fund his idea, for no one on this planet would think to even fund such a unholy idea. This is Brockman of the 'Ridiculous Reports' part of the show. Have a wonderful night." The TV continued to talk about some other news, but Rika didn't pay attention. The newsman info caught her eye, and her mind swirled with ideas. She picked up a phone and called the operator

"Hello? Operator, get me James Duke."

In a few days, James was in Rika's house, hoping that Rika would fund his project. 'Why would a woman with such wealth live in such a. badly sustained environment? No matter, if she's willing to fund my project I'd meet her in the deepest depths of hell.' James thought as he sat on the couch waiting for Rika.

"Sorry to keep you waiting Mr. Duke. Let's see this idea of yours, if I find it believable, I will fund it, and I will have full power of this project, what I say goes, if I tell you to revive a plant you'll do it, if I tell you to revive a human being you'll do it, understand?"

"Right Ms. Nonaka."

"Call me Mrs. Matsuda, and you may begin."

"Yes Mrs. Matsuda." James stood up and pulled out a pointer, he had a big whiteboard behind him and several notebooks in front. "My theory is that if I can reactivate the nucleus within the subject's atoms, the subject will. well resurrect. You see Mrs. Matsuda, every piece of living object has atoms, and within these atoms have a nucleus, which hold incredible amounts of energy. When you die, the nucleus dies out, so if we reactivate the nucleus, I believe we can revive something into real, living tissue."

"You mean like zombies?" Rika asked

"No! Of course not, they will not be like the living dead, but more of a second chance at life. They are revived like they are before, their memories would be intact, and they will remember everything."

"Alright Mr. Duke, you've convinced me, you've got the funding for your project, I expect results in six months. Don't tell me anything insignificant, and I want you to start small, rats, cows and other animals of that sort."

"T-t- Thank you! Thank you very much Mrs. Matsuda." James took a quick bow and quickly left.
