Life is not fair in the third grade.

"Class," Mr. Ratburn bellows "I want everyone to open their maths textbook to page 180 and complete all the questions on that page." Arthur quickly opens his textbook and flips the pages until he has found the page number 180. Fractions. Everyone groans inwards as to not let Mr. Ratburn hear. After slugging through the first question, Arthur begins to glance around the room to see how everyone else was doing. He noticed Brain was flying though the questions. He turns his head to look outside the window. He notices the other third grade classes are also doing maths but in a very different way. One class, were singing the one-time table, whereas the other class were learning about addition by using candy. "Arthur Read!" roars Mr. Ratburn "you will not find the answers by looking out the window." Embarrassed about being called out in class, Arthur hangs his head down and quickly gets back to the maths problems. He was just starting the fourth equation, when there was a knock at the door. Mr Haney enters with a new student. "Vomitrocious," whispered Muffy "I hope she isn't going to be in this class." "Class, this is Eleanor please make her feel welcomed." Mr Ratburn said. "Now Eleanor, why don't you introduce yourself to the class?" All eyes turn to face Eleanor. She stood there with her flabby stomach jiggling and the fat of her legs ready to burst out from the side of her pants. "My name is Eleanor Murphy and I just moved here from Australia." She said softly. The class begins to erupt with questions. "Class, I am sure Eleanor will answer all your questions at lunch. Let us get back to the fractions." Mr Ratburn said. He turns to Eleanor, "there is an empty seat next to Muffy, you two can share her math textbook and work on the equations." He said. Muffy quickly rolls her eyes. As Eleanor makes her way over to the empty seat, she accidently knocks off a student's pencil case. "Hey watch it!" yells Binky. The class begins to giggle. "Class!" roars Mr Ratburn, "I keep everyone in for lunch if we have any more disruptions." Eleanor quickly sits down and tries to complete the fraction equations but found it too hard. She did not want to ask for help in fear that the whole class gets kept in at lunch because of her nor did she want everyone to think she was stupid. She pretended she was writing down the equations while secretly she was scribbling on the corner of her piece of paper hoping that the teacher doesn't notice she needs help. She was wondering when lunch was, but she didn't have to wait long as there was a high-pitched ringing bell sound over the P.A system. "Okay class, everyone line up in an orderly fashion. Instructed Mr Ratburn, "Remember class, it's in alphabetical order by last names." Eleanor stood by the side, unsure of where to go. Mr. Ratburn noticed her standing by the side, and quickly pointed behind two students indicating that is where she should stand. The class giggled softly, as Eleanor started to blush and feel embarrassed.
