Chapter 1

"Woah there friend! I think you need to slow down!" said Nancy Notepad to no one in particular. It was her favourite quote after all. Taking her empty canvas, she takes her pencil and starts to draw. Her lines overlap and soon, the entire canvas is filled with the wonders of her art.

"My! What a great day to be creative and play!" she says happily as she steps out of her room. Sometimes, she was a notepad, sometimes, she was a woman, and sometimes a child. Now of course, all of this depends on her mood. She prefers to be a lady though. Stepping in to the living room, her friend (ultimate enemy and crush) Tony Tock was already waiting for her.

"My my. Your late as usual." Tony says in his lazy monotonous tone, sitting up unusually straight s always in his usual spot, drinking his coffee as usual.

"Lay off my case. Its not even yours!" She says, not wanting to get lectured about being late anymore. Standing up, Tony places his coffee on the coffee table and stalks over to her like a predator stalking its prey. Nancy doesn't even flinch a muscle.

"Oh really now?" Tony says curiously. "And to think I always thought that you were mine and mine alone." He says smirking the smirk that he wears so charmingly and grabbing her by the waist with one hand and pushing her chin up so her face meets his. Blushing, Nancy makes feeble attempts in pushing him away. Her brain tells her it's so wrong, but her heart tells her to just go with this.

"Oh please Tony. Don't tease me like this." Nancy says softly, her pencil positioned right where his neck should be when a strong hand pulls the pencil right from her tight grasp.

"Oh Nancy. How could you be so MANIPULATIVE?!" he says as he takes his clock hand sword to tease her rainbow curls that fall off her shoulders so perfectly. Her blush only darkening, she merely places and hand on her enemy's cheek.

"Same to you my dear. She says, quickly pulling out an extra pencil from her tool belt, and using it to caress the under of his neck.

"What are you trying at here Nancy?" Tony asks whispering into her ear, his sword's sharp edges grazing her skin and forcing blood out.

"Im not trying anything Tony my dear." She says battering her eyes sweetly at him.

"Oh really now?" asks Tony curiously.

"Yes and I must ask you this question that I have so long been waiting to ask you Mr. Time." She says, her heart pounding in her chest so hard, she was assured that he could feel it.

"And what would that be Ms. Notepad?" Tony asks, his breath tickling her neck and he slowly and painfully digs his sword into her back.

"What are we really meant to be? Enemies? Friends?" She asks, her eyes searching his face for any sign of weakness and desperation clear in her voice.

He stiffens up slightly and soon replies. "We can be whatever you want to be my dear." He says, tenderly caressing her face, his clock arm sword no longer in hand. She places her hand on his, and smiles a sad smile.

"But how could we my dear? I am creation and you are time. We are complete opposites." She says, a lone tear rolling down her cheek.

"I'm sure we'll figure out how to. As there is a time for everything. I'm sure we will find a way. Wont we?" He says softly, wiping the tear from her cheek.

"Yes. Yes we will." She says as she leans in for a kiss. The kiss was short and sweet like all first kisses are. It was Nancy who pulled away first, leaving Tony in a daze. Before she could walk away with her new found feelings for her enemy, a strong hand pulled her back into its grasp.

"Nancy. Is there something you want to tell me?" He says, his face not giving anything away.

"I…" She says softly, her blush returning again this time in a deeper shade. "I love you."
