'Where are we?' asked Ralph, holding the damaged conch shell in his hand.

'Who cares? Let's have some fun here!' Jack turned to look at the group, who cheered.

'Shut up, Jack. I think we should explore.'

'Good idea, Ralph!' exclaimed Piggy.

The group looked on as two boys and a girl walked up to them.

'What are you doing here? Where did you come from?' asked the first boy.

'We just woke up and ended up here. My name is Ralph, this is Piggy, this is Simon, and...'

Jack barged past him. 'I'm Jack. Who are you?'

The girl suddenly gasped. 'You're from Lord of the Flies!'

Jack looked at the others, confused. 'What?'

The blonde girl sighed. 'It's a book. Written in the 1950's.'

'Are you trying to say that we're just book characters? How do you know you're not? Where are we now? Last time I checked, it was 1954.'

'We could be book characters too, I don't know. But right now, we are in America, and it is 2013. I can prove it too. You're Simon, and you two must be Sam and Eric. And… Roger.'

Ralph gasped, but refused to be beaten in a fight, even if it meant siding with Jack. 'You still haven't answered our question. Who are you?'

The second boy now spoke. He had a slight Spanish accent. 'My name is Edilio. This is Sam, and the girl is called Astrid.'

'I think we should take you back with us. There are other people in this place, who might not be quite so welcoming.' said Sam.

'Whoa there, wait a minute. Why should we trust you? You could be taking us to anyone. Where are we going to stay? With your parents? And now we're in… what was it? 2013, we have no idea what to expect.'

'Jack, accept their help. You know we need it.'

Astrid smiled. It was a knowing, infuriating smile. 'I don't think you need to worry about where we're staying, or who we're taking you to. There are no adults here, same as you on your island.'

Piggy stared at her. 'But why? Is it because we're in the future?'

'Nobody knows, kid. One day, everyone over 15 just went 'poof'. Gone. It's a world of kids,' Sam smiled wryly. 'Welcome to Fallout Alley Youth Zone. Otherwise known as the FAYZ.'
