Rangiku Matsumoto stepped outside, into the dark cold air. No one was up and walking around so she guessed that it was late. She went for a walk, going back to the place she had met Gin Ichimaru. She stopped and looked around the area. It wasn't any different from when she lived there. The houses barley stood up, dirt and dust was everywhere. In her opinion it was no place for anyone to live. Rangiku sighed and closed her eyes.
When she first met Gin, they were children. He had saved her from being alone, and she felt as if her life had meaning when they met.
"Gin…where are you now?" She asked herself as a breeze came by, chilling her to her bones. She shivered and turned to walk back to her home, when see saw Ichimaru standing in her way.
"What are you doing out here in the middle of the night, Matsumoto-san?" He asked and smiled. Rangiku stopped when she saw him, and started to say something but stopped. It had been awhile since she had seen him, and she wanted answers from him even though she wanted to say something else.
"Gin, what have you done?" She asked feeling slightly betrayed. She didn't want to reveal her true feelings for him. She didn't want him to know how she felt hurt, betrayed, and lonely when he left. She looked at him, waiting for him to answer. His smile grew, and he walked towards Rangiku. He lowered his head to hers and put his hand behind her head.
"Is that what you really want to say to me?" He said and lightly pushed her face closer to his. She didn't attempt to push away from him, and struggled to get any words out.
"…Gin…where did you go?" She asked, hurt. "You always leave without telling me where you're going…" As she was talking, she continued to feel betrayed by him. She looked at him, as her eyes started to tear. "How could you just leave like that? Do you have any idea how that made me feel? Gin, why did you go? Why did you leave me?!" She said and started to cry harder now. She closed her eyes and felt him wiping away her tears. Her face followed his fingers, and he inched her chin forward. He kissed her and she kissed him back. When he pulled away she folded into him. Gin wrapped his arms around Rangiku and she rested her head on his chest. In that moment, even though he had left her alone and betrayed everyone else, she felt relieved. She was relieved that he was back, and that he was with her.
"I told you didn't I, Matsumoto-san?" He said and let go of her. She backed away slightly, and looked at him confused.
"Told me what?" She said, not liking how he was talking.
"I told you that you should have held on longer." He said and disappeared. Rangiku gasped and ran over to where he was standing.
"Gin! Come back!" She screamed as she fell to her knees and started to cry. "Why are you doing this?!" She asked aloud, feeling even worse then when he left before. She sat there, crying until she heard someone calling her name.
"Matsumoto!" Rangiku woke up, and looked around. It was light outside, and she was on her couch. She blinked her eyes, and felt the tears still around them. "Matsumoto! I have something I need you to do!" She heard her captain say as he continued to knock on the door. She wiped her eyes, and walked to the door. It was only a dream… she told herself. Dammit Gin…I better see you again… she thought to herself, and opened the door.
