A/N: This is part of my "Challenge in a Can" challenge. I picked "Dawn, Furious, Mirror". It's set during Blood Ties, and is my version of Dawn's point of view during her reaction to finding out she's the key. It's my first real Buffy fanfic, so please be kind with your reviews.

Disclaimer: Joss owns Buffy. Challenge Ina Can own the challenge. I just own my story.

Dawn. Furious. Mirror.

Dawn looked at herself in the mirror. She felt human. But now she knew the truth. She wasn't human at all. She was…a key. A big ball of energy that existed only to open some sort of lock.

Dawn remembered. She remembered having Buffy push her on the swings. She remembered moving to Sunnydale. She remembered when she found out that her sister was the Slayer. What was that? Was it all a bunch of lies? Something that some monks created?

Dawn let out a roar of anger. She threw the mirror off the wall, and it shattered into hundreds of pieces as she threw it angrily on the floor. She reached for her diary. Was it even her diary? Or was this an object created by the monks too? Tears streaming down her face, she threw all of her diaries, ones dating back to when she was seven, into the trash bin. Then she struck a match and set her memories of fire. She ran into Buffy's room. She opened the chest in which Buffy kept all her weapons. She picked up a huge knife and scrapped it along her arm. She knew the dark red blood couldn't be real. It was fake. It was all fake.
