Hey guys! This is my second story on Fanfiction. This is based on a roleplay I'm doing with Nightfly, so be aware of the way I'm writing the story for now. It's not only my story, but also a collaboration with Nightfly as well.

It's also a sequel to my first story, so if you haven't read it yet, go and read it.

I hope you enjoy this story. No mean reviews please.

One night in the Amazon rainforest, an unconscious male raven was laying near a river with a gothic coloured stick over his wing. His feathers were dampened and his back laying on the sand. He heard a voice inside his head saying these words:

"See the light from your darkness."

Just then, a female Spix's macaw landed near the river and found the body. She was briefly afraid of what she was seeing and she was hesitant in helping the raven, but she soon gets the courage to go help him, knowing that he needs it.

"Hang on, I'll make sure that you are well-looked after." the female Spix's macaw said.

She put one talon on the raven's shoulder and the other on the raven's staff and carried them both to her hollow.

The next morning...

The raven woke up after regaining his consciousness and finds himself in a hollow.

"Wha-" he spluttered.

He sees a female Spix's macaw beside him. She quickly jumped up and backed away from him, but she eventually decides to speak up as she knew that the raven would like an explanation as to how he got there.

"Hello." she said. "I found you laid unconscious near a river and I decided to help you, so I brought you here, to help you recover."

The raven found his staff laying in the corner of the hollow and grabbed it. He was about to aim it at the macaw until he looked at her for a second and decided to ask her a few questions.

"Who are you and where am I?" he asked, fiercely.

"I am Catina and you're in my home." she replied. "I live here and it's where I decided to bring you in order to make sure that you recovered, like I said."

Catina sees the raven putting down his staff and was about to walk over to her until he almost fell to the ground.

"What can I say other than... thank you." the raven said.

Catina smiles as she helps the raven to walk and she takes him to a nearby wall of her home, where she helps him sit down in order to allow himself time to get his strength back as he was definitely going to need it.

"You're welcome," said Catina. "But, I was wondering, who are you and where did you come from? What happened to you and how did you get here?"

The raven sighed as he would rather not talk about what happened, but he insisted on telling her who he is and where he came from.

"My name is Veran and I'm a raven." the raven said. "I'm from the Scottish Highlands."

He sighed again and mumbled to himself as Catina noticed.

"What are you mumbling about?" Catina asked.

"I would rather not talk about what happened until I get to know you better, Catina."

"So you want to know more about me?" Catina asked again.

Veran looked at Catina's eyes. They were bright blue and sparkly, but he looked away to avoid contact with them. He turned to face her again and nods his head.

"Yeah, if you insist."

Catina nods her head in understanding as she had a suspicion that Veran must have had a very bad past and that is probably the reason why he doesn't want to talk about it, so she went ahead with telling of her own past.

"Well, I grew up in the Amazon rainforest with my mother, Katie, who taught me a lot about how to be a kind-hearted bird and I followed her example as I wanted to just be like my mom and I always wanted to make her proud of me. I didn't know my father very well as he abandoned me and mother when I was little, though, my mother has always suspected that one day, he may return."

Veran put a wing around her shoulder and looked around the hollow. He didn't know that he would be this far from his homeland to get here and was quite in a state of shock as he looked at Catina.

"That's a deep story." Veran sighed. "What bird are you, and is this really the Amazon rainforest?"

"I'm a Spix's macaw," Catina replied, while nodding. "And yes, this is the Amazon rainforest."

Veran was about to panic, but realises that the voice in his head told him to look for the light in his darkness.

"Would you care to show me around and take me to see your bird friends?" he asked.

"Sure." she said.

Veran followed Catina out of her hollow and flew through the tropical trees of the rainforest. The raven couldn't believe what he was seeing in front of his very eyes. It was like a whole new world for him. For now he wonders how much difference it will make being here than back in Scotland.

That's the first chapter done, first time doing it in a third-person perspective. I don't think I did that bad, don't you think?

It seems like Veran will be getting used to being in the rainforest after being saved by Catina.
