InuYasha: Nighttime Blues

Disclaimer: Sadly, I don't own InuYasha ((sniffle)) so I would ask that you don't accuse me of stealing. Like you'd do that.... right?

A/N: And, of course, this story is done by, drum roll please..... HARRY POTTER!! Heh, just kidding... it's done by me, of course! And you thought Harry Potter wrote it. And, yeah, words may be spelled differently than how you spell it.... 'kay?

She sat their, crying. Her eyes were flooded with tears, and her heart was aching, as if someone had ripped it out of her chest and squeezed it hard, then placed it back inside her. Despite that, she felt empty. She curled up into a small ball, and cried some more. I was a fool, she thought to think InuYasha would change. He never loved me. He was always in love with- Kikyo. At the thought of Kikyo's name, she cried more. She was at home, alone. Her mother was at the super-market, buying groceries for dinner. Her brother, Souta, was at school and her grandfather was out getting something for a new spell he was working on. And she was alone.

She vowed to herself that she would never help out that bastard, InuYasha. He had went behind her back, cheated on her with that- that- with Kikyo. Now, she was alone. She vowed she would never go back through the well that lead her back in time, 500 years ago, to be with him. He, InuYasha, had ripped open her chest, tore apart her heart, and threw it back in her face. She was alone.

She cried some more, until she could cry no more. Her vision was blurred, and she couldn't see as she searched for a washcloth. She arouse from her bed and stumbled to the bathroom. As the water ran with the washcloth in the sink, she heard a small raaappp on the window as a small boy lifted up the window. She stared there in awe as she saw her friend, the small fox demon, Shippo, appear in the room.

"Kagome! Are you alright?" he asked as he scuttled over to the bathroom door. Kagome wanted to be left alone, but she didn't have the heart to slam the door in his face. She was overwhelmed, so she sat on the edge of the bathtub and clutched her head. She looked at the floor, confused and afraid. She loved Shippo, they were great friends, but he was a reminder of him, the traitor.

"I-I'm f-fine, Shippo," Kagome responded, trying to smile. "I- I was just thinking." But that was a lie. She was crying, and it showed. Her face was flushed, and there were still tears in her glossy eyes.

Shippo was smart, and he wasn't buying Kagome's response. He then frowned.

"Don't lie to me, Kagome. I'm your friend! You can tell me! Does it have to do with InuYasha?" Shippo asked, patting Kagome's hand. At InuYasha's name, Kagome only whimpered, then sobbed. "Oh, Kagome, I'm sorry to mention In- umm... well, you know."

"That's alright, Shippo. I know you meant well. But yes, I am very upset with InuYasha." Kagome replied. She had stopped sobbing, but was trembling slightly. Shippo smiled and so did Kagome. He then stroked her hand.

"C'mon, Kagome. What do you say we go back to the Feudal Era?" Shippo hled his breath, afraid she'd say no, or start screaming at him. His body got tense as he prepared for her blow, but it never came.

"I don't know, Shippo," Kagome got up. "I'd have to... pack, and tell my mother, and, um, well.... I don't know if I should... go back so... early." She sat back down on the side of the tub and put her feet inside the bottom. The tub was cold, and so was she. She shivered.

"Kagome, what do you have to lose?" Shippo looked into Kagome's eyes. Her tears had dried and she nodded. "I suppose you're right Shippo. Let's go."

They ran out of the house and down to the well. Kagome held her breath. "Here goes nothing-,"

Ta da! Ok, I know it's bad, but it's just the beginning. So, whataya say? Will you review it?
