Chapter One: Dare You To Move.
"Alex, I love you," My crush and my best friend's boyfriend, Peter Parker whispered.
"Oh, I love you too!" I threw my arms around him in a passionate embrace.
We were about to kiss. Our lips-
BUZZ! BUZZ! My alarm went off, waking me from my pleasent dreams. Today's the first day of my senior year, and I was pumped. But obviously not as much as my best friend, Gwen Stacey, seeing as she'd already called twelve times. She could be a trip, but I loved her all the same.
I called her back, and she answered immediately. "HEY!"
"Good morning," I said groggily. I was not a morning person.
"Wake up, sleepy!" She chirped. "You've got to meet me and my man at the Starbucks by the school pretty soon."
I groaned. I hated seeing Peter with her. It made my heart hurt. "great. Be there soon."
I hung up on her before she could mention him again. I always felt guilty for liking him, but this year could be different. Squirting toothpaste on my toothbrush, I jammed it into my mouth. I thought of what to wear. Maybe my Spiderman shirt.. Peter always made fun of me for having a crush on a superhero, but I couldn't help it. Whenever I hear a police report saying how great he is, my heart does flip flops. The same kind of fliop flops it does when Peter talks. Gwen and Peter have been dating since our junior year. So, I've been sitting on the sidelines watching them cupcake for a whole year! It's amazing I haven't snapped yet, and gone all Sweeney Todd on them. Though it has crossed my mind several times.
I turned on my straightener and fixed my black and cherry red hair. Yup that's me, Alexandria McNeal: the chick with the crazy hair. The red is (of course) in honor of Spiderman. Once that was finished, I ran into my room and threw on a black burnout with some skinny jeans, and my limited edition Spiderman Vans. Yeah, I'll admit it, I'm a total geek for him. I tried to tone it down on the first day, so I won't be labeled. Though my hair usually gets that job done. Peter never judged me for it, and that's another reason why I fell for him. That, and he's super amazingly smart and attractive, which doesn't hurt at all.
Jumping in my car, I sped off to Starbucks. Gwen, and Peter were sitting at a table outside sharing a frappichino. What's worse is that they were playing footsie and haolding hands on top of all that. Supressing my urge to gag, I plastered a smile on my face.
"Hey," Peter said brightly. Much to my delight, he was the first to notice me. Alex-1 ; Gwen-0.
"Hey," I said nervously and shifted from foot to foot. "What does your schedules look like?"
Peter grabbed his and so did Gwen. As I compared the three, I noticed we had all the same classes. "Why..?"
Gwen beamed. "Peter hacked into the school system to change that. Isn't he just great?"
My heart sank. "Wonderful."
"He can change them back, if you want..?" Gwen's smile faltered.
"Yeah, I can switch them by next week." Peter chimed in.
"No, no, it's fine. Just a bit shocked you managed to pull it off." I laughed and turned to go to my car.
This was going to be one of the worst years of my life.
