Author's Note: I was watching Criminal Minds, which is of course, my favorite pastime, and this little story just sort of came to me. I know it's short, but please read and review. It would mean a lot! Hope you enjoy! :)

Disclaimer: I (very unfortunately) do not own Criminal Minds.

It was late at night.

The only source of light in the otherwise dark room was the moon, which shone in thin streaks through the slightly open blinds. The moon's glow gave her body a somewhat celestial look, making her look even more like the goddess she really was.

She was a mystery, and she was one that Aaron Hotchner definitely wanted to figure out. No matter how much time he spent around her, there was always something new to discover. She was an enigma. She was his temptress.

Her almost-black hair contrasted greatly against her pale yellow sheets, and her naked body was positioned against his, giving him a large enough taste of her to realize just how deeply in love with her he was. He loved the way that her body moved when they were together, how relaxed she seemed to be with him, and the way she responded to him when he sighed her name, drawing it out like the prayer it was.

She was gorgeous, no doubt, and he was lucky to be the one man that Emily Prentiss had gladly let into her life. And that wasn't the only thing he was lucky about. She had let him stay with her for a long time, and now, he was proud to say that she was his. She had always been his, just as he had always been hers, from the very beginning. He had asked her to do him the honor of being his wife. And she had accepted.

Hotch watched as, in her deep sleep, Emily stirred and murmured his name, unconsciously moving closer to him. He wrapped his arm around her, keeping her safe from the darkness of their job and the outside world. Because even though he knew Emily could hold her own (after all, she had proved it more than once), he would always protect her.

Why?

Because he couldn't live without her. So there they lay, united in more ways than one. They both loved each other irrevocably.

And in the end, that's all that really matters: knowing that somewhere in the world, someone loves you more than life itself.

THE END.
