Playful Banter

Ronon, Rodney and Teyla are sitting at a table by one of the balconies overlooking Atlantis's night sky. They are all laughing loudly and tears practically coming out of their eyes. John is walking towards them with a tray of food. As he sits down they look at him with wide smiles.

John looks at them blankly, "What?"

"I was just telling them about the painting Harmony did of us," Rodney says boastfully.

John rolls his eyes and makes a face, "We are not gonna talk about this again are we?"

"It's ok Sheppard. You can't be a heroes all the time," Ronon chuckles.

"Ha. Ha. Ha. You guys are funny. And for the record, that's not what happened," John says with a disgruntle tone.

"It is perfectly fine John for you to be upset," Teyla says calmly, but with a small smirk.

John voice starts to pitch, "I'm not upset. It's just… Oh, never mind."

"John, I absolutely understand. It is not your fault that she fell in and out of love with you so quickly. She must have… expected more out of you," Teyla jested.

John's face contorts as everyone laughs out loud again, "Aw, not you too Teyla."

Teyla is about to return a comment, but while she is laughing the baby kick and causing her to release a small gasp.

"See. That will teach ya. Even junior is backing me up," John snickers.

Teyla's jaw's open in surprise and shoots him a playful, payback look.

Rodney starts to get excited, "Oh! And did I tell you she wanted him to be her king?"

Ronon and Teyla try to look at John with their littlest smiles until John starts to gather his things back on the tray. They all simultaneously ask him to sit down and stay.

"No way. I don't need this abuse," John says before looking at Rodney. "And how did you know about that any way?"

Rodney gets a little nervous, "Well um… I eased dropped… a little."

"Well, at least I'll say this… at least Rodney got the alien girl this time," John says with a sarcastic smile.

All the laughter turns onto Rodney and as John walks away a small, satisfying smile appears on his face.

The End.
