"Another move," Nightmare Gottschalk remarked vaguely. He had barely noticed that the land had moved once again, this time becoming the Country of Clover. This meant Heart Castle and the Hatter Mansion had arrived, along with some odds and ends. Like Boris. Briefly, Nightmare wondered if Alice had stayed in the Country of Hearts; after all, she was finally becoming attached.

"Sir, your hands have stopped moving. Please keep working."

Nightmare's aide, Gray Ringmarc, told him, with zero sympathy, Nightmare might add.

"I know, I know," Nightmare grumbled. He was in one of his rare, semi-cooperative moods. That is, until he noticed someone in the Tower. It couldn't have been anyone other than…

"Alice," Nightmare whispered. Gray caught it, and turned to him.

"The outsider you've been talking about? What about her?"

"She's here. In the Tower. She was kicked out in the move," Nightmare explained. And then it struck him that he should welcome her in a fashion befitting his station – in other words, he wanted to greet her in a "cool" way.

"Gray, we need to properly greet Alice! It's time for a break anyway," Nightmare demanded. Gray leveled a look at his boss that asked if he was serious.

"Sir - "

"Hurry! She'll be here any minute! Quick, let's have a smoke!"

Gray was utterly baffled by Nightmare's behavior, but grudgingly obliged, because there was something underlying his panicked behavior that was serious. Nightmare must really think something of this outsider. After scrambling to put work into a semi-neat pile, Nightmare grabbed his pipe, sat in one of the lounging chairs, and lit the pipe. Gray sighed, lit a cigarette, and stood at his side, waiting.

Nightmare, having been busy trying to "look cool," noticed that Alice was now wandering the Room of Doors. Not good. Nightmare tried giving her directions, but Alice just got frustrated until finally, she had arrived.

Open the door.

Reluctantly, she did. And finally, for the very first time, Nightmare and Alice could meet in reality.
