Waltz to no tune: Alice In Wonderland; MHxMH

The March Hare was just wrapping his fingers around the closest tea kettle when the Mad Hatter jumped to his feet, knocking the table as he went.
"I DO DECLARE!" And with that shout, the Mad Hatter frightened the March Hare out of his wits, causing him to drop his tea cup, along with the tea kettle. The March Hare pouted as he looked at the shattered tea cup and spilt tea.
"Hatter, look what you've done! You've broken my half cup…"
The Mad Hatter ignored the March Hare, jumping onto the table, knocking away tea cups and sugar cubes, along with bottles of jam. The white table cloth wrinkled under his feet, as he extended a hand towards the March Hare, leaning down towards him from the table top. "Let us waltz, Marchy."
The March Hare avoided the Mad Hatter's eyes, hiding behind golden locks of hair. His tawny ears drooped, and he nervously shifted his feat about from his seat. "I…" the March Hare fiddled his thumbs, and a blush tinted his cheeks. He whispered his next words, barely containing a stutter "I don't know how to dance, actually."
The Mad Hatter jumped back with a gasp. "Sixteen years old and you don't know how to waltz?! That's just unacceptable!" The March Hare gave a tiny gasp as the Mad Hatter pulled him from his seat, easily lifting his tiny frame from the chair.
"One, two, three…" In what seemed like one fluid movement, the Mad Hatter placed the March Hare's bare feet onto his own, and he began to guide him through the steps. The March Hare struggled to keep up, every now and then wincing as he leaned too much weight on the Hatter's toes. However whenever he looked up nervously to the Hatter's face, all he could see was a grin under a mop of blazing red hair and a striped hat. It was because he was distracted by staring at the Hatter that the March Hare missed a step and toppled completely off the table, bringing the Hatter with him in his panic. The two fell from the table, pulling the cloth (and assorted dishes) to the ground, the sound of shattering glass and clanking tin following them in their descent. The March Hare closed his eyes from fright of impact, but he felt the Mad Hatter hold onto his head as they fell, tucking his ears forward so they wouldn't be injured.
And then there was impact.
The March Hare shook himself, trying to rid his ears of all the ringing. He poked his head from under the table cloth and saw the Mad Hatter gazing down solemnly at something in his hand. The March Hare army-crawled closer, and gasped slightly when he saw the object in the Hatter's hands. It was his golden pocket watch.
"Hatter! I'm so sorry, it's all my fault…" the March Hare looked at the watch in dismay. The Hatter stayed silent.
"I'm so, so sorry…I know you treasured that…"
As the March Hare waited in the silence, the Mad Hatter finally gave a sigh. The March Hare held his breath in apprehension for anger and yelling. But he heard something he did not expect at all.
"Well…it's ok Marchy. My most precious treasure isn't broken."
"What?"
The Mad Hatter turned to face the March Hare, smiling. He lifted the Hare's chin.
"Well you're still alright, aren't you?"
